Frontier fortress poems
Border fortress poems mainly sing about the scenery of the frontier fortress, fully showing the situation of war and the heroic ambitions of men. Frontier poetry flourished in the Tang Dynasty, in perfect contrast to pastoral poetry. The reason for its rise is that due to the strong national power of the Tang Dynasty and the continuous expansion of territory, many young people joined the outside world. At the same time, there were some frustrated literati who regarded making meritorious services outside the country as a new way to gain fame. The scenery outside the Great Wall is very different, with yellow sand, lonely city, decaying grass, Hu dust, Qiang flute, and side moon. All kinds of new life experiences and different perspectives stimulate the inspiration for writing poems. The main poets include Gao Shi, Cen Shen, Wang Changling, Wang Zhihuan, Li Qi, Wang Han, etc. Cen Shen and Gao Shi are the most famous, so they are also called Cen Gao School of Poetry.
The characteristics of the Frontier Poetry School can be summarized into the following four points:
1. In terms of poetry style, it is unrestrained, majestic, impassioned, and famous for its powerful atmosphere.
2. In terms of the genre of poetry, seven-character poems are the main ones, and there are also some seven-character quatrains. Because the seven-character poems have many changes in syntax, they are enough to show the generosity and majesty.
3. In terms of the subject matter and content of the poem, frontier scenery and war scenes are the main themes. The landscapes described include strong winds, scorching heat, severe cold, ice and snow, large deserts, tragic and tragic battles, exotic Hule, etc. The characters are mostly protective guards, generals, Chanyu, Hu Ji, Zhengren and Hu'er. Place names include Tianshan, Yinshan, Hanhai, Luntai, Shule, etc.
4. The authors are full of romantic and enterprising spirit, and have a positive and optimistic outlook on life. Therefore, the poem is full of passion and excitement, showing abundant patriotic emotions. Of course, there is also a side that reflects the cruelty of war and homesickness, but it is also filled with the ambition of shrouding corpses in horse leather and making meritorious deeds.
