Xuzhou Poetry Collection is the first collection of poems in Xuzhou edited by Guixing, the magistrate of Xuzhou in Qing Dynasty. It was first compiled in the 13th year of Guangxu (1887), completed in the 16th year of Guangxu (1890) and published in the 17th year of Guangxu (189 1). There are 8 volumes of Xuzhou Poetry Talk, which are woodcut editions. The first volume is Preface of China Bank. The scope of collection depends on whether Xuzhou people were born or not. From the end of Ming Dynasty to Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty (1875~ 1908), the works of 254 poets were collected. Every collection of one person's works must be preceded by biographies, abbreviations, professional background, life stories and work achievements.
Xuzhou Poetry Collection is a masterpiece of poetry creation in Xuzhou area. Many works and authors' resumes have been handed down from generation to generation, which not only plays a great role in preserving documents, but also has important historical research value.
