/kloc-On October 8th, the beloved Premier Zhou Enlai passed away. The whole country was deeply saddened by the bad news. However, the Gang of Four was ecstatic. They took the world by storm, suppressed and obstructed people's mourning activities by any means, spread rumors unscrupulously, and continued to frame Premier Zhou. Behind these criminal activities, they accelerated the pace of usurping the supreme leadership of the party and the state. Seeing the perversion of the Gang of Four, the people of China, who had long been indignant at their crimes of sabotaging the national economy and various socialist undertakings, thought in silence and advanced in their thinking, and finally took historic actions around Tomb-Sweeping Day. At the end of March, Nanjing first appeared a big slogan against the Gang of Four and defending Premier Zhou. Subsequently, people in Zhengzhou, Fuzhou, Xi, Taiyuan and other places also broke through the heavy blockade of the Gang of Four and held mourning activities in various ways. To mourn Premier Zhou is to declare war on the Gang of Four. This historic action of the people is the biggest and most powerful in Beijing, the heart of the country. Around April 5, millions of people gathered in front of the Monument to the People's Heroes in Tiananmen Square to express their deep sorrow for the people's good prime minister with tears, black gauze, white flowers, poems, elegiac couplets, wreaths, oaths, speeches and bloody books, and denounced the heinous crimes of the Gang of Four. At that time, Tiananmen Square became a solemn memorial hall and a battlefield with distinct camps. Love and hate stored in people's hearts for a long time burst out like magma. Faced with this massive mass movement, the Gang of Four was on pins and needles. They used all organizational means and all propaganda machines in an attempt to put out the flames of people's anger. However, the people of China, who have a glorious revolutionary tradition, have constantly pushed their struggle to a climax with their fearless revolutionary spirit and ingenious art of struggle. In this case, in order to save their own bad luck, the Gang of Four threw the heroes in the April 5th Movement into a pool of blood by violence. Although the great Fourth Five-Year Movement was brutally suppressed, in this life-and-death struggle between progress and retrogression, revolution and counter-revolution, light and darkness, the people were the winners. With their own actions and even blood, the people forced the Gang of Four to completely expose their vicious face of being enemies with the people, promoted the awakening of the people of the whole country in a greater breadth and depth, prepared the most important mass foundation for crushing the Gang of Four and ending the October victory of ten years of turmoil, and wrote an immortal page in the history of our revolution.
Zhou Yang said in his report at the Fourth Congress of Writers and Artists in China: "History is ruthless and dramatic. The Gang of Four usurped the party and seized power from the front of literature and art, and the people sounded the death knell of their downfall with the heavy hammer of literature and art. As the main manifestation of the May 4th Movement, during the heroic struggle against the Gang of Four, thousands of poems were posted around the Monument to the People's Heroes in Tiananmen Square day and night. Most of the authors of these poems are ordinary workers, students, peasants, soldiers and cadres ... They expressed the people's deep love for Comrade Zhou Enlai and their incomparable hatred for the Gang of Four in their poems with irresistible passion. At that time, there was a poem praising these poems like this:
Poetry flowers are sprinkled in front of the monument, and poetry magazines are not published in the newspaper.
There are many articles about Mo Daoyao, which is the flower of popular support.
("China is playing turtle catcher" Part 10)
Because of this, they caused a strong * * * sound among hundreds of millions of people: the reciter burst into tears, the listener burst into tears, readers rushed to recite, and plagiarists forgot to eat and sleep. They are like a group of fires, which make the love and hate in people's hearts burn more and more. They are like swords that stab the hearts of the Gang of Four, and they have played an inestimable role in educating the masses, inspiring them, exposing the enemy and attacking them.
The May 4th Movement was suppressed, Tiananmen Poetry was vilified as "reactionary poetry" by the Gang of Four, and its author, reciter and plagiarist were brutally persecuted. However, people did not give in. Faced with the order of the Gang of Four to "trace" and "destroy", they still risked being detained as "active counter-revolutionaries" and hid these things in candles, fireplaces, flower pots and underground ... so that they could see them again after the Gang of Four was crushed.
Tong Huaizhou of Beijing Foreign Studies University (the collective pen name of sixteen comrades in the Teaching and Research Department of Chinese Department) and the Editorial Group of "The Copy of Revolutionary Poetry" of No.502 Institute and Institute of Automation of the Seventh Machinery Department of China Academy of Sciences made the greatest contribution to the copying, collection, sorting, editing and publishing of "The Poems of Tiananmen Square". Under the pressure of the Gang of Four, they collected, edited and published Poems of Tiananmen Square and Poems of Revolution in 1978 and 1979 respectively. In addition, the editorial departments of Heart Monument, World Literature and 2 1 1 factory also copied, collected, sorted out, edited and published Tiananmen poems.
Lenin once praised the Internationale: "No matter which country he came to, no matter where fate threw him, no matter how he felt that he was a foreigner, unable to speak, unaccompanied and far away from the motherland, he could find comrades and friends for himself with the familiar tunes of the Internationale." In the Fourth Five-Year Movement, Tiananmen Poetry played such a role. Millions of people from all walks of life and all over the world are strangers and have no unified organization and command. However, the flag of the battle is so clear, the will is so strong, and the pace is so consistent. The mystery lies in the earth-shattering revolutionary spirit expressed in Tiananmen poetry, which deeply touches people's heartstrings and unites people ideologically and emotionally into one person.
Expressing infinite love for Premier Zhou Enlai and gnashing hatred for the Gang of Four is the main theme of Tiananmen Poetry.
