In the 1980s, new varieties of Xuehuaizi were introduced from Zengcheng, and new varieties of Jiulihong and Xiafanzhi were cultivated in Jiulibu fruit farm. In 1990, a new variety of Sophora japonica was discovered in Guancun. In 1996, Zhongshan Yuan Hong was introduced from Zhongshan City. In 1997, seedless black locust branches were introduced from Dongguan, Ma Guili was introduced from Gaozhou, and a new variety, Jingang Hongnuo, was discovered in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. So far, the number of Conghua lychee varieties has increased to 39.

Early maturing varieties

Generally, the fruits mature from late June to early July, including Cinnamon, Rice Zhi, Jinggang Hongnuo, Zhongshan Zhuangyuanhong, Shangshuhuai, Qingpitian, and Jiuli Hong, Jinfeng, Shuitagu, Dashuigu, Hequedan, Liangpi, Gualu, Ziniangxi, Tuoli, Sanzhi, Suan Gong, Chula.

Late-ripening varieties

There are 10 varieties, including Sophora japonica, Budai, Fragrant lychee, Snow locust, Helexing, Auntie shoes, Fengchuizhi, Seedless lychee, and Maguili. The fruits usually mature in mid-July.
