Guo Moruo's Couplet of Family Style

Guo Moruo's Couplet of Family Style

Zhu Zhongxiang

There is a saying in the heirloom, but it is very heavy, nothing unusual, but very straightforward;

Everyone who benefits others is virtuous, and his words are like articles.

What is "family style"? Or what "family style" do you advocate? This is one of the most discussed topics in major media some time ago. This reminds me of these two couplets in front of Guo Moruo's former residence in Shawan District, Leshan City. Be kind, be sincere to others, do good deeds without harming the interests of others, and be just in words and let others judge. It should be said that this is the family style of the Guo family.

Guo Chaopei, the father of Guo Moruo, has a good word paste, Geng Jie temperament and is smart and capable. Because Guo Chaopei knows a little about medical skills and is generous, he is willing to give medicine to others for free, so he is deeply respected by the villagers. He often warns his children: "It is better to accumulate wealth than to accumulate virtue. Although goodness is small, it must be done. " This kind of tutoring content has left a deep imprint on Guo Moruo's mind since he was a child. Because Guo Chaopei dropped out of school in his early years and suffered from dropping out of school, he attached great importance to the education of his children and was very strict. This has played a positive role in Guo Moruo's growth.

But among the elders, Guo Moruo's mother had the greatest and deepest influence on his childhood. Mother Du Yao Zhen was born in a family of state officials. Guo Moruo's grandfather Du was an official in Guizhou at that time. Later, because of the Miao uprising, the city fell and the whole family committed suicide. Fortunately, an old woman named Liu saved Du Yi's life. Grandma took Du and wandered from one place to another, relying on others to lead a hard life. Du invited Zhen to marry into the Guo family when 15 years old. Du invited Zhen to be smart. Although she had no parents when she was a child, she was not qualified to go to school. However, she knows some words by ear and can recite many Tang and Song poems. Guo Moruo later became a famous poet and was deeply influenced by his mother. So Guo Moruo said, "If I am also a poet, then this genetic factor also comes from my mother."

When Guo Moruo was born, he had two brothers, two sisters, two other sisters and one brother who had passed away. Guo Moruo ranked eighth. Guo Moruo was most influenced by his mother when he was young. Before Guo Moruo went to school, his mother taught him to recite: "Light Yangtze River water, leisurely feelings. Falling flowers hate each other, and the ground is silent. " This is Guo Moruo's first poetry teaching, and he was influenced by poetry from his mother at an early age. Young Guo Moruo probably can't read such a poem, but it reads catchy. Perhaps this is the earliest poetic scene in his mind. Guo Moruo was very clever and had a good memory since he was a child. My younger brother, who is four or five years older than him, watches The Book of Changes and The Book of Songs at home in the evening. He can't understand inexplicable sentences such as incantations, but he can play games under the lamp and recite them when listening to his brother read them several times. His cleverness won his mother's love, and her mother taught him to recite the poem "Young Man": "Young man, go to school by bike. Teacher Wang thinks I am young and has an article in my stomach. " This poem cultivated and stimulated Guo Moruo's interest in reading.

Later, Guo Moruo once said: "The reason why I am inclined to poetry and literature and art is that my mother has given me a decisive influence." Mother was not only the first enlightener to sow the seeds of literature for him, but also cultivated his sense of justice and compassion. Mother is a woman who has suffered a lot. In Guo Moruo's later words, "the history of her life can be said to be a history of suffering." When Guo Moruo was a child, his mother often talked to him about this, which made him know about some folk sufferings and sympathized with the people at the bottom of society. The dark body and pale face of the charcoal burner in his hometown charcoal nest left a deep impression on him, and the horn of his hometown boatman echoed in his ears all the time. This feeling for the working people is an important ideological nutrition for him to write a series of excellent poems later.

Mother is kind and strict to Guo Moruo and other children. The story told in Guo Moruo's prose "Banana Flower" is an example. Mother always fainted once a year in autumn because of long-term fatigue and weak body, which was called "dizziness" in the old society. When Guo Moruo was five or six years old, he and his second brother secretly picked a banana flower in someone else's garden. It is said that plantain flower is a good medicine for dizziness. When Guo Moruo dedicated the plantain flower to his mother, her mother was very angry when she asked about the origin of the plantain flower. She immediately told Guo Moruo and her second brother to kneel in front of the bed and sighed again and again, saying, "Alas, mother gave birth to a disappointing child like you. It is better to die for her mother! " In a short time, my father knew about it and dragged two brothers to kneel in front of their ancestors in the lobby and beat them up. Banana flower is useless in the end, but the strict education of Guo Moruo's parents is the starting point for him to know life.

Guo Jialiang's good family education has exerted a subtle influence on Guo Moruo, a teenager. His mother, in particular, educated and shaped her son with her kind and upright character and arduous personality. Today, we are going to recite this couplet in front of the Guo family. Should we also be moved and enlightened?
