The Poetry Research Center of Nanjing University of Science and Technology Officially established in March 2009, it is currently the only poetry research center among domestic polytechnics. The members of the center include Shu Ning, Jiang Xue, Huang Fan, Ma Yongbo, and Zhang Zonggang. Zhang Zonggang is the director of the center. The establishment of the center is regarded as an important symbol of NIT’s humanistic spirit.

Nanjing University of Science and Technology, as one of the first batch of national key universities approved by the State Council and one of the first batch of national "211 Project" key construction universities, has been adhering to the educational philosophy of "art to impart quality and literature to convey morality" for many years. It attaches great importance to the development of humanities and was approved as the “National College Student Cultural Quality Education Base” in 2006. At present, the school has a group of important poetry creation and researchers, such as critic and poet Dr. Zhang Zonggang, poet, translator, essayist, and poetry theorist Dr. Ma Yongbo, poet and novelist Associate Professor Huang Fan, and poet Jiang Xue, associate researcher and poet Shu Ning, deputy editor and reviewer. This team has made achievements in theoretical criticism, literary translation, poetry creation, novel creation and prose essay creation, especially in poetry creation (old-style poetry, modern poetry) and poetic research, and is recognized as a strength among Jiangsu universities. The strongest, it also shows considerable advantages and weight among domestic universities. The rise of NIT’s Poetry Research Center and the “NIT Poet Group”, as an important literary and cultural phenomenon, has attracted widespread attention in recent years. Since the establishment of the center, it has guided all kinds of poetry reading competitions for college students on campus at Nanjing University of Technology. It has successively invited the well-known literary theorist Professor Sun Shaozhen and the editor-in-chief of "Literature News" Mr. Chen Xingeng to the school. He held lectures, invited the famous film director Lu Chuan to have a dialogue with Nanjing University of Science and Technology students, and cooperated with the "Journal of Nanjing University of Science and Technology (Social Science Edition)" to create a "Modern Poetry Research" column, which attracted attention in the industry. May Poetry Meeting" and Nanjing University of Technology's 60th Birthday Poetry Recital were successfully held, bringing together more than 70 talents from the province The poets and writers of the school made active and effective explorations in the stage form, integrating poetry, calligraphy, painting, music and dance, and strived to create an audio-visual humanistic feast, which can be called a small military parade in Jiangsu poetry circle; it was successfully held in May 2014 "The King's Feast: Poetry Recitation for the Fifth Anniversary of the Founding of the Poetry Research Center of Nanjing University of Science and Technology", more than 60 poets and artists from China, the United States, France and Germany joined the event and sang on the same stage; in September 2014, with Jiangsu Education The TV station teamed up to hold the "Fengya Sing" 2014 Mid-Autumn Poetry Contest in Mochou Lake Park. Gao Ying, Shi Yi, Ma Xiaoning, Chang Xiaochuan, Zhang Xiaobei, Jiang Linshan, Xu Tao, Xia Qing, Wang Kai, Dagang, Wang Zheng, Fu Guo Artists, broadcasters, and hosts recited original works provided by Jinling poets. Poetry collided with calligraphy, recitation blended with musical instruments, and multiple cultures were connected hand in hand. It was known as "the meeting of good voices and good poetry." .

Center member Ma Yongbo's theoretical work "Investigation of Contemporary Jiangsu Poetry Creation" and Zhang Zonggang's theoretical work "Investigation of Contemporary Jiangsu Prose Creation" were successively selected as the official project of the Jiangsu Writers Association's "Key Support for Literary Creation and Criticism Project", both of which were It is the first academic topic in China to comprehensively and systematically examine and discuss contemporary Jiangsu poetry and prose creation; Center member Huang Fan, together with colleagues in the poetry circle, successfully founded the literary website "Nanjing Review" and a private magazine of the same name, and organized the Xiangquan Lake Poetry Festival, Phoenix Taiwan Poetry Festival and Rougang Poetry Award selection activities, etc.; the poetry creations of center members Jiang Xue and Shu Ning have increasingly attracted the attention of the poetry community in recent years. After being vigorously recommended by the center, Huai'an young poet Suning has risen rapidly. In recent years, he has published many poems in "People's Literature", "Poetry Magazine", "Zhongshan" and "Stars", published 1 collection of poems and 2 collections of essays, and participated in "Poetry Magazine" He participated in the 27th Youth Poetry Society and the 20th Advanced Seminar for Young and Middle-aged Writers of Lu Xun Academy of Literature. He was hired as a contracted writer for the 5th session of the Jiangsu Writers Association and a special writer of the Taiwan Literary and Art Association.

His work "City of Common People" was recommended by both Jiangsu Writers Association and Jiangsu People's Publishing House to participate in the 5th Lu Xun Literature Award, the highest award in Chinese literature, and won the 4th Jiangsu Province Purple Mountain Literature Award and the 5th Wu Chengen Literary and Art Award. ; His work "A Lost Village" won the special prize of the first "Yellow River Literature" Biennial Award. It was also recommended by the Jiangsu Writers Association and Jiangsu People's Publishing House to participate in the 6th Lu Xun Literature Award, and became a good story in the literary world.

Since its establishment, the Poetry Research Center of Nanjing University of Technology has earnestly organized a series of meaningful activities.
