Essays on Xinhuang's poems

[Notes]

Long Biao: Today's Qianyang, Hunan, was very secluded in the Tang Dynasty. Wang Changling, as mentioned in the poem, was often called by the name of the state or county where a person was an official.

Move to the left: in ancient times, respecting the right was not as good as the left, that is, demoting officials.

Sub-regulation: cuckoo.

Five streams: The five streams mentioned by the Tang people refer to Chenxi, Youxi, Wuxi, Wuxi and Yuanxi, which belonged to the Middle Guizhou Road at that time and were located in western Hunan and eastern Guizhou.

Yelang: In the Han Dynasty, southwest ethnic minorities established political power in parts of western Guizhou, northern Yunnan and southern Sichuan, which was called Yelang. Yelang County was established in Tongzi, Guizhou and Yuanling, Hunan in the Tang Dynasty. This refers to Yelang in Hunan (in xinhuang dong autonomous county, adjacent to Qianyang). Li Bai was in the southeast at that time, so it was said to be "downwind until Yelangxi".

[translation]

The flowers are gone, and the birds are singing.

I heard that you were demoted to the Dragon Label, passing through Chenxi, Xixi, Wuxi, Wuxi and Yuanxi.

Let me entrust my sad heart for you to the bright moon in the sky.

Accompany the gentleman, you go all the way to Yelangxi!

[structure]

The first sentence describes the scenery and points out the seasons. Taking the wandering flowers alone in the landscape is called "it is better to go home", which means that it contains the feeling of loneliness and the hatred of parting, which conforms to the situation at that time and melts into the landscape.

Because the first sentence has seen the feelings in the scenery, the second sentence tells the story directly. "Smelling the Tao" means surprise and regret. "Crossing the Five Rivers" means seeing the desolation and hardship of the road. You don't have to say anything sad, but you can see the meaning of sadness by yourself.

The last two sentences are very lyrical. It's hard for people to follow each other, but the bright moon shines in the sky, and it can be * * * thousands of miles away. You should send your heart to the bright moon and wave with the wind. The meaning expressed in these two poems has three meanings. First, you said that your heart is full of worries, you can't say it, no one understands it, and you can only entrust this worry to the bright moon; Second, only the bright moon shines in two places, and my friends and I can see her; Third, so only by relying on her can we get rid of our troubles, and there is no other way.

[Function]

Through rich imagination, the poet Li Bai expressed like-minded friendship in the way of love between men and women, and endowed the abstract "sorrow" with the property of things, only to go to the wild west with the wind month by month. This kind of giving one's feelings to objective things and making them equally emotional, that is, personalization, is a major feature and advantage of the formation of image thinking.

Amazing imagination, detached spirit and clever brushwork fully show Li Bai's artistic personality, which is also the real reason why I have heard for a long time that Wang Changling moved to Longbiao Kiln and his artistic charm is enduring.
