Early Release of Ancient Poems in Baidicheng

"Original"

Baidi City was released in advance.

Author: Tang Libai

Early in the morning, I bid farewell to Jiangling city, which is high into the sky, thousands of miles away, and the boat is only one day away.

The cries of apes on both sides of the strait are still unconsciously crowing in their ears, and the canoe has passed the heavy green hills.

"translation"

Say goodbye to Baidi City reflected by colorful clouds in the morning, and Jiangling, thousands of miles away, can be reached in one day.

Apes on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are still echoing in my ears, and the brisk boat has passed the mountains.

"Create background"

This poem is about the journey from Baidicheng to Jiangling in a day, which mainly highlights lightness, which also reflects Li Bai's lightness. At the age of 58, Li Bai was demoted as a yelang, abandoned his wife and children, and moved away from home. Suddenly, he was forgiven and could go home. Naturally, he was very happy. Li Bai did not express his feelings directly in his poems, but after reading his description of the trip, he could naturally feel his mood and excitement.

Appreciation of whole poem

The word "colorful clouds" in the first sentence is more vivid. It is not only a description of the beautiful scenery in the morning, but also reflects the emotional change of the poet's heart from gloomy depression to bright and happy, as if there is a feeling of dawn reappearance, which empowers the dynamic description of later poems. The word "Jian" depicts the poet's feelings of looking back at Baidicheng on the clouds in the past. Taking the towering terrain of Baidicheng as the foreshadowing, it better reflects the great water gap between the upper and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and also finds a foothold for the fast speed of the boat, the short travel period, the inability of the apes to stop and the crossing of thousands of mountains.

"Jiangling is a thousand miles away, and it will be returned in one day", in which "a thousand miles" and "one day" are based on the distance of space and the short-term disparity of time. What is even more ingenious is the use of the word "Huan", which not only shows the poet's joy of traveling thousands of miles a day, but also expresses the joy that can't be concealed inside. Jiangling is not the poet's hometown, but the word "return" is as kind as going home. This is vivid in the dark, and it is worth pondering for future generations.

"The apes on both sides of the strait can't stop crying, and the canoe has passed Chung Shan Man"? In addition to comparing the speed of sailing with the sounds of apes and mountains, the poet added the word "light" meaningfully. Writing a boat down the river is like riding a galloping horse and driving a long wind. I feel that the green hills on both sides of the strait are oncoming and retreating in rows. The Three Gorges apes crow, and the sound is connected, which is endless. In a blink of an eye, I have crossed Qian Shan and arrived at the gates of Jiangling. In the pleasure of the clippers, there is a poet's sudden passion after hardships, which leaves people with a broad imagination space.

The phrase "The apes on both sides of the strait can't stop crying, but the canoe has passed Chung Shan Man" is not only a description of the scenery, but also a summary of life experiences, which is delicate and ethereal. The whole poem is bold and unrestrained, with bright and beautiful pictures, pleasant feelings and smooth meanings. It is a famous ancient poem.
