Brief introduction of East West Tower

Quanzhou Dongxi Pagoda is a combination of Zhenguo Pagoda and Renshou Pagoda, and it is the tallest pair of stone pagodas in China. It is located in Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou, West Street, Quanzhou.

Kaiyuan Temple was built in the second year of Tang Dynasty (AD 686), with a long history of 1300 years.

This temple is huge, covering an area of more than 78,000 square meters.

The magnificent Hall of Great Heroes, Ganlu Tan Jie, Tibetan Scripture Pavilion and East West Pagoda are famous for their ancient and exquisite architectural art and unique charm.

It is a national key cultural relics protection unit.

The twin towers on both sides of Kaiyuan Temple, with the "Zhenguo Tower" in the east, are 48.27 meters high; To the west is the Renshou Tower, which is 45.06 meters high.

The East West Pagoda is the tallest and largest stone pagoda in China.

The East Tower (Zhen Guo Tower), located in front of the Daxiong Hall of Kaiyuan Temple, is a national tower of a famous town.

In the sixth year of Tang Xiantong (865), a five-story wooden tower was built.

During the jubilee of the Song Dynasty (1017-1021), it was changed to 13, the 25th year of Shaoxing (1kloc-0/55) and the 13th year of Xichun (155).

In the third year of Baoqing (1227), it was converted into a seven-story brick tower.

The West Tower (Renshou Tower) is located in the front and west of Daxiong Hall, and is called Renshou Tower.

The following year (AD 9 15-920), Liang Zhen of the Five Dynasties built a 7-level wooden tower,No. Infinite Life Tower, and in the fourth year of Song Zhenghe (1 14), it was renamed Renshou.

A fire broke out in the 25th year of Shaoxing (1 155), and it was converted into a brick tower in Xichun (1174-1/89).
