What kinds of poems does Tang poetry include?
As far as the types of poems are concerned, there are paintings, literary poems such as Du Fu's Painting Eagle and Six Plays, roaming poems such as Han Yu's Breaking the Rock and Bai Juyi's You Wuzhen Temple, epic poems such as Du Fu's Chanting Five Hundred Words, Li Shangyin's Poems on the Western Suburb and philosophical poems such as Zhang's Flowers and Moonlight on the Spring River. Fu-style poems such as Du Fu's Northern Expedition and Han Yu's Nanshan Poems, others such as Bai Juyi's Song of Eternal Sorrow, Yuan Zhen's Poem of Lotus Palace, etc. are legends, and Wang Wei's Journey to the Old General and Bai Juyi's Poem of Xinfeng Folding Arms, etc. are all extensions and innovations of the Tang Dynasty.
