Cain built a city for himself.
Although God made it clear that Cain would wander all his life, Cain built and lived by himself. Obviously, he tried to resist God's judgment and try his best to end his wandering life as soon as possible. Now, like Cain, the world will try its best to rebel against God, alleviate the pain of sin and refuse to repent. As the poet said: Why do foreigners fight? Why do all peoples plot vain things? The kings of the earth rose together, and the princes and butchers consulted together to resist the Lord and his anointed. He said, we will break their ropes and untie their ropes. Those who sit in heaven will laugh, and the Lord will laugh at them. Then he will rebuke them in his anger and frighten them in his fierce anger.
The Bible does not say whether Cain stopped wandering and settled in the city after he built it, but how many years he lived. However, it records his rebellion against God (this is the only record in the Bible about Cain after he left God). This shows that God doesn't care about the achievements of those who try to resist his authority and get rid of his bondage. But Shen will not let go of their rebellious behavior, nor will it be recorded, nor will it be filed and recovered on time. Cain may be able to improve his material life by his own efforts, but he will eventually perish. (Jude 1 1)
The name of the city that Cain built after his son.
This shows that people are becoming more and more arrogant, asking people to commemorate their achievements instead of commemorating God's grace. Although the earth and everything on it that people live and enjoy are created and given by God, people should regard everything given by God as their due, not the God who gives everything to people.
Lamech, the seventh generation of Cain, took two wives.
When the Lord Jesus answered the Pharisees' question about divorcing his wife. It has been said that it is God's "first" will for husband and wife to become one, but it is not God's will to be polygamous or divorce his wife at will. Here Lamai set a precedent and became the "ancestor" of polygamy (Gen 4: 19). This shows that the types and ways of human crimes are also increasing and changing with each passing day. This development did not begin in this era, but as early as Cain's era, and among all kinds of novel crimes, the crime of fornication is often the most important.
4 Lamai's arrogance
Lamech said to his two wives Ada and Zillah, Listen to my voice. Lamai's wife, listen to me carefully: the mature man was injured and I killed him; That young man hurt me and I hurt him. (Gen 4:23) Lamech was not ashamed to kill and hurt his son and nephew's relatives, but boasted about his ability to his wife and was glad of his cleverness in evil behavior (Luo. 16: 19), which is exactly the mentality shown in today's world.
If you kill Cain, you will get seven times the reward; Those who kill Lamech will get seventy-seven times the revenge. (Gen 4:24) This means that Cain killed his brother for no reason and still got the promise of God-whoever killed Cain was guaranteed seven times; In this way, since he committed suicide because he was injured (there is a reason for killing), there is no need to worry about his own safety for killing. These words exposed Cain's stubbornness, deceit, rigidity and disobedience to God. God promised Cain this way because he didn't want Cain to die immediately, but just wandered around. Therefore, God gave Cain this promise, which showed his faithfulness and gave him the opportunity to repent and change, but it does not mean that God also defended or tolerated human sins. But Lamech wisely cited God's faithfulness and kindness to Cain to justify his crime. Just like many people now, they like to cite some people who have done worse things than themselves but have not been rewarded by God as examples to comfort themselves and defend their crimes, or use such classes to laugh at and slander God, which makes people doubt the justice and sacredness of God.
Many inventors
Genesis 4: 19-22 shows that human beings have made gradual progress in material and secular wisdom, but although these advances have improved people's lives, they have not improved people's virtue at all (in this paragraph, material progress and spiritual degradation are the most obvious contrast). Although the invention and progress of human beings in the material aspect is also a favor given by God, so that people can learn to make good use of the wisdom given by God and seek better enjoyment of life, if they are arrogant and blindly pursue material enjoyment and indulge their lust, regardless of their own spiritual affairs and God's will, the result will be that the more material progress, the more people's spiritual morality will retreat.
