The silk flower Temple Fair in the New Town of Deqing County originated in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. According to legend, the state of Yue sent Beauty Stone to Gusu, passing through the new town, and sent flowers to the girl and sister-in-law who raised silkworms, wishing them good weather and a good cocoon harvest. Since then, the sericulture farmers in Baili have held a grand silkworm flower temple fair in Tomb-Sweeping Day every year to commemorate the teacher. Visitors can experience the unique folk culture of sericulture.
