1. A large number: The Whole Tang Poetry was compiled during the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, with a total of more than 48,900 poems. Books in the Tang Dynasty were mainly copied by hand. After eight centuries, there are still nearly 50 thousand works handed down from generation to generation, which shows that these works have withstood the test of the times.
Second, the range of authors is wide: from emperors to generals, to vendors, servants, advocates, from old people to children of several years old, and foreign authors. Among them, the album handed down from ancient times is 69 1 piece (statistics of Ming dynasty). There are not only great poets such as Li Bai and Du Fu, but also a large number of outstanding poets such as Wang Wei, Bai Juyi, Li He, Li Shangyin and Du Mu. The level of Tang poetry surpassed that of any period in China's history.
Thirdly, there are various themes: politics, economy, war, religion, court, bureaucracy, imperial examination, marriage, affection, friendship, wandering, homesickness, landscape, pastoral, animals and plants and other social and natural phenomena are all written in Tang poetry. As Wen Yiduo said: "Every word in life is written in the form of poetry, so nothing can be included in poetry."
Fourthly, the system is complete: Yuefu, classical poetry (including five words, seven words, miscellaneous words and four words), quatrains, metrical poems, miscellaneous words, songs and modern poetry all matured in the Tang Dynasty, and a large number of excellent works appeared. Some people write Chu Ci, and some poems give birth to the genre of "Ci".
Skillful techniques: rich images, free and bold imagination and reflecting social life through artistic images are the basic laws of art. Poetry sings about life and expresses sincere feelings with concrete images.
