Haiyan Poetry Society was founded in the 195s during the period of Beijing Petroleum Institute, and "Haiyan" was inscribed by Mr. Guo Moruo. Haiyan Poetry Society was closed during the Cultural Revolution and resumed in 1984. Li Duo, a famous calligrapher, wrote "Haiyan", Gao Quan, a famous oil painter, painted the cover picture of "Haiyan Poetry", and Yang Guanghua, the old president of China Shiyou University, wrote the preface "Ode to Haiyan". After the 199s, the school associations were reformed, and the Literary Creation Society of Petroleum University was established, which consisted of Haiyan Poetry Society and Fenghua Literature Society.
