1. "The Journey of the Great Dao" Pre-Qin Dynasty: Anonymous
The journey of the Great Dao means that the world is for the common good, the wise and capable are selected, trustworthiness and harmony are cultivated. Therefore, people do not only care for their relatives, nor do they only have children for their children, so that the old will have their end, the strong will be useful, the young will have their own growth, the humble, the widowed, the lonely, the disabled and the disabled will all be supported, the men will have their share, and the women will have their homes.
There is no need to hide the goods on the ground if they are disgusted; they do not need to be hidden for oneself because the power does not come from the body. This is why people seek to be closed but not prosperous, to steal and commit robberies but not to commit robberies, and why people outside are not closed to the outside world. This is called Datong.
Translation: When the Great Dao is implemented, the world is owned by people. People with high moral character and capable people are selected, honesty is emphasized, and harmony (atmosphere) is cultivated.
So people should not only support their parents, not only raise their children, but also ensure that the elderly can live their whole life, the middle-aged people can contribute to society, and the young children can grow up smoothly, so that the old people can be healthy and healthy. Wives, old and husbandless people, children who lost their father in childhood, old and childless people, and disabled people can all receive support.
Men have jobs and women have a destination. Regarding wealth, people hate the act of throwing it on the ground, but they do not necessarily want to keep it to themselves; people are willing to do their best for public affairs, but not necessarily for their own private gain. Therefore, treacherous plots will not occur, and theft, rebellion, and harm to others will not occur. So there is no need to close the door. This is called an ideal society.
2. "Nanxuan Pines" Tang Dynasty: Li Bai
There is a solitary pine in Nanxuan, and the leaves are spreading. When the breeze is leisurely, the whole day and night are free and unrestrained.
The ancient moss is green in the shade, and the color is dyed with autumn mist. How can it soar into the sky, thousands of feet up?
Translation: There is a lonely green pine tree in the south of the window, with such dense branches and leaves. The breeze always shakes its branches, and it is so comfortable all day long. Go back to rest, go back to rest. Is it necessary to become a marquis if you are not an adult? The origin of floating clouds is uncertain, and they are as free as floating clouds.
Translation: I wanted to go up to a tall building to watch the beautiful scenery and avoid my sorrow, but my sorrow still followed me up to the tall building. I have traveled to several places where the mountains and rivers have changed beyond recognition, and many relatives and friends have turned gray. Go home and retire. Go home and retire. Do they all have to go to the frontier to perform meritorious service and become a marquis? The floating clouds have no fixed place. I can come and go as the clouds do. How free I feel.
4. "A Journey to Silkworm Valley" Tang Dynasty: Du Fu
There are ten thousand cities in the world, but there is not a single city without armored soldiers! How can I cast armor to make farm implements and use cattle to plow an inch of uncultivated land?
The oxen plowed the land, and the silkworms also grew. The indefatigable martyrs burst into tears, and the men and women walked on silk threads and sang again.
Translation: There are tens of millions of cities in all regions of the world, and not one of them is without armor and weapons! How can armor and weapons be forged into agricultural tools so that every inch of land can be cultivated? If this can be done, the cattle will be used to their full potential, and the sericulture industry will be successful; there will no longer be a need for soldiers to shed tears. At that time, the whole society, men farming and women weaving, lived and worked in peace and contentment, and people walked and sang at the same time. How wonderful it would be!
5. "Reading on an Autumn Night is always marked by the end of two drums" Song Dynasty: Lu You
The rotten Confucians lament that nothing is extraordinary, but they only like to make up the leftovers and not be deceived by me. The white hair ruthlessly invades the old world, and the green light has the flavor of childhood.
Gao Wu Cece spreads the chill, and stacking drums in winter forces sleep. The autumn nights are getting longer and hunger is causing trouble, and a cup of yam is filled with fine rice.
Translation: As a pedantic Confucian scholar, I lament that my life is mediocre, but I only love the works left by my predecessors and never deceive me. The white hair mercilessly climbs up the top of the head, and gradually enters old age, but the Qingdeng of reading is still as friendly and interesting as when I was a child.
The tall sycamore trees were making a sound, and there were waves of chills. I was very interested in reading, and suddenly I heard the drums urging me to fall asleep. The autumn night is long, and I am hungry. It is difficult to read any more. Drinking a cup of potato porridge cooked with yam is better than that delicacy.
