Prose the time of a 97-year-old grandmother

how long is a person's life?

Everyone will get old and eventually become nothing. Impermanence dominates everything, because you never know what will happen next.

It's like, until now, I can't believe that Grandma has left us. Today is the seventh day since Grandma left.

As a 97-year-old cross-century old man, she witnessed the fall of a feudal dynasty and the birth of new China. Her life track is very full, representing a history and a story.

Grandma's experience can be written into a novel. However, here, I just want to write down the years I spent with Grandma, and record the daily odds and ends to commemorate this strong, kind, simple and great grandmother.

Grandma was born in 192 and died at the age of 97. Her ancestral home was in Sichuan.

Grandma's surname is He, and she married into the Li family at the age of 23. In those days, all women had to take their husbands' surnames. Therefore, grandma's name is Li Heshi.

a 24-year-old girl was born, and then two daughters and two sons were added. My father-in-law was old, and my grandmother was 37 years old when she was born.

Grandma died when she was 48 years old, lived in the countryside until she was 63 years old, and followed her father-in-law to Kunming for 34 years.

I went to the hospital to see her that day. She was unconscious, but her face was bitter and her brow was tight. I know that she is in pain at the moment. This has happened many times. Under the careful care of my parents-in-law, she survived several times. This is a strong grandmother.

I held her hand, felt the warmth of her palm, silently recited Buddhist scriptures for her, and prayed for the protection of the Bodhisattva.

perhaps, grandma miraculously got better just like last time.

She is a very kind old man. Grandma's hunchback is a bit serious, and her body is very healthy. She can even grow black hair. When she walks, she will walk with tiny steps, faltering steps and slightly shaking body. However, when she sees us, she will always smile. Almost everyone who has seen her is shocked to hear her age.

As we get older, our hearing is not very good. Every time we talk to grandma, we should try our best to speak loudly and communicate in Sichuan dialect. Sometimes, grandma asks us questions and has to answer them loudly many times in a row before she can understand them.

Grandma has a good memory. Every time she eats, Grandma always tells us all kinds of interesting things that happened in her village with a strong Sichuan accent. She laughs and laughs, which is very interesting.

Grandma always takes a flashlight and a small alarm clock with her wherever she goes. She will put the small alarm clock in her pocket and take it out at any time. When it is dark, the flashlight will come in handy.

My parents-in-law are very filial to the elderly and want to take her out for a walk more often in her lifetime. Grandma went to Xishuangbanna with us. When taking the tour bus, some people thought that grandma was over 8 years old, and she was hale and hearty.

Grandma is very stubborn. As long as it is determined, it is difficult to change, and most of her in-laws follow her wishes.

Grandma usually eats lightly. During the day, she prefers to put rice in a small pot, add some water and cook it into white rice porridge, or cut the white steamed bread into pieces and fry it in a pan, which is delicious and crisp.

In the evening, everyone gets together for dinner. Grandma likes to put some sweet potatoes in rice, and she likes to eat fat meat very much, because too thin meat is difficult to chew. Grandma has been wearing dentures for more than 3 years. Grandma also likes to drink soaked wine, red wine and snacks such as biscuits, satsuma and dried fruits. Her parents-in-law often buy her all kinds of cakes, and whenever we are at home, she takes out the snacks for us to eat.

Grandma is very considerate of others. Sometimes when we come back late from work, Grandma will definitely leave us food.

Grandma is a restless person. She likes to play with all kinds of things she has saved for decades, such as clothes, sewing, rags, paper boxes, and even leaves and leftovers. Most people in her family follow her wishes, and sometimes she can only throw them away secretly when she is not looking.

I can fully understand grandma's persistent waste, because she is a person who has survived from the past. The hardships and struggles that grandma has experienced are unimaginable, but she has never complained. Grandma is really strong. She believes that as long as people live well, there will be no obstacles.

whenever we take grandma out for dinner and prepare to leave, grandma will stand up and stare at us to pack the food;

save electricity and water; She has to put away all the scraps of paper, cartons, used books and worn-out bags at home and never wants to throw them away. Grandma likes to collect these in one place, and then tie them with ropes, so that we can take them to the scrap yard for sale. Grandma is delighted with the change she sells, and happily puts it away and puts it in cans and bags.

If you can't finish eating vegetables at home, in order to avoid waste, grandma will wash the vegetables, cut them into small pieces to dry, or put them on for pickling.

Grandma also likes to make sweet potato powder and konjac. Put the sweet potato powder in a basin filled with water, soak it for a while, stir it evenly and pour it into a hot pot. Keep stirring, and the liquid will gradually become sticky.

Grandma is short. She stands on tiptoe, vigorously shakes the frying spoon to stir the sweet potato powder, and sometimes we help to make it together. After a while, the sweet potato powder condenses into a block, and grandma takes it out and puts it in a cold water basin for solidification. Then she cuts the sweet potato powder into small pieces, puts it in a hot oil pan, adds onion, garlic, dried peppers to saute, and adds some bean paste, which looks hot.

Grandma watched us sweep away the food, and her face showed a gratified smile.

Grandma likes to tease Xiaobao very much, and she can shake the stroller and look after the baby.

Grandma is old, and she is afraid that she will get lost when she goes out. Her mother-in-law also puts a note with her phone number and address in her pocket, but Grandma is very good. Sometimes she sneaks out to the market to buy food when her family is not looking, and she can always find it home accurately.

Grandma's memory is amazing. Although she didn't go to school, she seems to be naturally sensitive to numbers. After hearing her husband say that Grandma used to go out to buy vegetables, she had to take a small electronic scale with her in her pocket and weigh out several catties and taels. After the vendor quoted the price, Grandma did the mental arithmetic directly, and the vendors were dumbfounded when she said the price.

I remember that a month ago, my grandmother recited her mother-in-law's phone number smoothly, which surprised me.

In her spare time, Grandma turns on the TV. Grandma likes anti-Japanese dramas to fight against Japanese devils best, and there is Four Great Classical Novels. Among them, the favorite is Journey to the West. Grandma knows the story by heart, and when she sees a clip, she will tell us the story.

In her spare time, Grandma likes to sit on the sofa, sewing clothes with a needle and thread, and humming Sichuan folk songs. The picture is quiet and warm, as if it is still ringing in my ears.

Grandma's pickled pickles are a must. The kitchen is full of large and small brown jars, which contain all kinds of pickles: lotus white, carrots, white radishes, beans ... It tastes delicious and feels sweet.

She washed the vegetables and put them in a jar, then added a certain amount of water, sprinkled some condiments such as salt in it, then sealed the jar mouth with plastic, put an upside-down bowl to cover the jar mouth, and poured some water, so as to ensure the sealing of pickles.

after pickling for a while, grandma estimated that it was almost enough, so she took out the pickles, cut them into pieces, put them in a sealed jar and put them in the refrigerator. Whenever we eat, grandma takes out pickles and enjoys them with us: "Xiaoyu, this is delicious." She said to me with a smile.

Grandma's favorite thing is to grow crops.

Grandma is almost obsessed with the land. Every weekend, she must go to the fields to hoe the fields, get vegetables and dry the crops. Every day, she breaks her fingers and counts the days. She often says to herself, "It's Tuesday today ..." "It's Wednesday today, and I can go up the mountain in two days ..." "It's Friday today, and I can go up the mountain later." Then my parents-in-law drove to the mountain with my grandmother.

The air on the mountain is good, there are many trees, and the sunshine is abundant, which is good for grandma's health.

when grandma arrived in the field, she was full of energy immediately. She was carrying a laundry basket and carrying a hoe. After five o'clock in the morning, grandma got up at dawn and went to the field to see her crops. Peas and corn in the field grow well, and grandma patrols back and forth like a guard, throwing unwanted leaves into the septic tank.

There are many fleshy squirrels running up and down in the mountains, which are very cute, and there are all kinds of birds that sing beautifully, but in grandma's view, they are all annoying thieves, because they will steal corn or other crops.

Grandma had an idea. She found some bamboo poles, covered them with plastic bags, and then put them in the ground. When the wind blew, the plastic bags rattled, and the birds and squirrels were afraid to get close.

A henhouse was also built on the mountain. My in-laws bought some hens. Soon, the hens began to lay eggs. Grandma often observed them in the henhouse. She saved them and put them in a plastic box for us to take back to the baby. Every time I feed them to the baby, I will tell him, "This is yours from the ancestors."

When the crops were harvested, it was grandma's happiest moment. Grandma took up a laundry basket and went to the field to pick with her in-laws in the scorching sun. Her parents-in-law worried that she was tired and wouldn't let her pick vegetables, because it was too hard, but her stubborn grandmother never wanted to sit at home. Her hands and feet were still very agile. After picking peas, she continued to peel them in the house.

She was absorbed in sitting on the stool. Because of her hunchback, her back was bent very low. Her hands were washed out by the years and carved with deep ravines. Her nails were aging and a little black. She was absorbed in peeling peas and looking at pots of peas, with a knowing smile on her face, which seemed sweet to her heart. That kind of satisfaction could not be replaced by any money or material.

Sometimes when I am tired, my grandma will sit on the steps in front of the house and bask in the sun. She quietly looks at the distant scenery, often lost in thought. For a moment, it is like a beautiful picture. I am also curious. What is grandma thinking?

time is like a moment.

The last time I went up the mountain, my grandmother accidentally fell down because she was pulling bamboo shoots. After being rushed to the hospital, she was too old to have surgery. The doctor said that she could only take medicine for observation, and her mother-in-law took care of her grandmother to eat, drink and dress. Unexpectedly, her condition was getting worse and worse. The doctor said that she was unable to recover because her grandmother had been suffering from cerebral infarction, lung infection and heart failure for many years ...

Later, she was admitted to the ICU for emergency treatment.

I'll never forget that day, as if I had a hunch, because there are always dreams of houses falling down in my dreams recently. I took the Buddhist scriptures and put the Buddhist machine in front of my grandmother's bed and gave her the Buddhist name.

She was lying flat on the bed, her face was sallow, and the ventilator in her mouth kept her alive.

I read my grandmother a Pharmacologist's Classic, and I felt that her look gradually eased. By the middle of the reading, her breathing stopped, and there was a wailing sound around her.

forbearing grief, she continued to finish reading the scriptures. At this time, the doctor reported the time: 13:48, and grandma's heart stopped completely.

I watched my grandmother leave, leaving peacefully, and my grandmother was silent.

Grandma left peacefully. I firmly believe that the Buddha and Bodhisattva protected her departure.

A kind and strong grandmother will go to heaven and live happily in another world. There is no pain, no pain, no fear, only flowers everywhere, and grandma's favorite crops. Grandma will continue to bless us in heaven.

We won't let grandma down. We will live well and inherit the blessings that grandma has given us.

Smoke was lit in front of the house on the hill, and paper money was burned one by one. Looking at the house in front of me, grandma's shadow was everywhere.

As the sun sets, the green field is very quiet, and the sound of birds singing, and the twilight gradually covers the field.

a gust of wind blew, and the paper dust swirled with the wind. Suddenly, several butterflies whirled around the smoke and then disappeared into the afterglow of the sunset.

Smoke lost my eyes, tears welled up in my eyes, and my eyes were blurred. I seemed to see a beautiful little girl in a quiet mountain village in Sichuan Province, China, one day in 1935, farming in the field. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and looked into the distance, humming a beautiful Sichuan folk song. Her eyes were shining, which was the best hope for the future ...
