| What is phonology and what is its function?
We talked about image thinking earlier, which belongs to vision, but it is not enough for words to have vision, but also to have hearing, because words themselves have sound and shape. When the reader sees the words, even if the mouth doesn't read them out, the brain is still meditating, so the words with rhyme can naturally attract people's attention, because it is pleasant to hear, easy to enter the human brain and stimulate emotion.
what is the function of phonology? For example, you will understand. In ancient times, the social status of entertainers was very low. Many of them had no education, but why did they remember the long lines or lyrics clearly? Because those lines are rhyming, they can recite them by heart and pass them on from mouth to mouth.
It's like a nursery rhyme you read when you were a child. You can't forget it even now, because it has a rhyme. Even if you didn't understand its meaning when you were a child, as long as you open your mouth, the lyrics gushed out like spring water, as if "the tricycle runs fast, and an old lady sits on it and wants 5 cents for a piece. Do you think it's strange?" I heard this nursery rhyme when I was about two or three years old, and I have long forgotten when I learned it, but I can't forget it until now.
| how to use phonology?
(1) Rhyme
How to rhyme? It's simple. Just play games.
1. Put a word with the same sound at the end
such as "u". The words that match this sound are pig, rabbit, tiger, mouse and five. Then you can string these strings together and make a short poem.
For example, "One, two, three, four is not five, hippopotamus is not a pig, tortoise is not a white rabbit, crow is not a bat, a tiger with wings, a mouse flying a plane, which is cooler?" This is fun. It's an exercise if you play it every day. Don't think about meaning, just find the feeling of rhyme.
2. Take the alliteration
For example, think about the words that start with "old"-tiger, mouse, teacher, old man, boss, grandfather, boss, hometown, god, old man, wife and so on.
try to combine these words into a poem. For example, "the tiger chased the mouse, and the mouse bit the teacher. The teacher was an old man. The boss of the old man turned out to be an old man. The old man was the boss at home. He went back to his hometown (saying) Oh, my God!"
3. tell stories with the same suffix
such as "zi"-table, chair, lion, rabbit, pot, cup, mirror, comb, car, children, house, money and so on.
Therefore, when writing, you can either put the prefix or the suffix. If you use more than three words in a row, the words you write will have a vivid impression and make people feel very powerful.
for example, 1. Make a virtue, make contributions and make a statement
For example, 2. Of the people, by the people, for the people?
abraham lincoln (16th President of the United States)
(2) How important is rhythm
? For example: the evolution of the basketball game system
There are three ways to make the writing rhythmic:
1. Use short sentences
Sentences must be short. If one word can be clearly stated, don't use two words. I suggest you do the math. It is best not to exceed 11 words in a sentence. If you write a sentence with complete meaning, but it is more than 11 words, you should consider whether you can break it into two sentences.
2. Delete redundant words
What are the most common redundant words? One is "yes" and the other is "no". Try to take the articles you usually see, delete the redundant "le" and "de" in them, read them again, and you will find that the rhythm is much smoother.
in addition to "de" and "le", there are many unnecessary redundant words, such as "selecting talents through examinations" and "enhancing understanding through dialogue". At first glance, there is nothing wrong with it, but there are redundant words in it-through, through and through. In fact, "coming through the exam" means "examination" and "coming through dialogue" means "dialogue". ?
One redundant word to be deleted is "proceed". For example, in the sentence "we want to carry out reform in an all-round way", "reform" means reform, and "reorganization" means reorganization. For another example, the announcer of sports games often says "the game continues", just say "the game continues". There is also "the school is having an exam", just say "the school is having an exam".
3. Don't use passivity if you can take the initiative.
Initiative means "the meat steamed stuffed bun hits the dog" and passivity means "the dog is beaten by the meat steamed stuffed bun".
We will find that once the sentence uses the passive tone, the whole rhythm will be slow. So if you want to speed up the pace, try not to write passive sentences, but write more active sentences.
| how to check whether a sentence has rhyme?
Every time you finish writing a paragraph, read it yourself, read out the sound, and listen to see if there is a sense of music, fluency and language.
when you get used to it, you will have a sense of rhyme even when you meditate.
| class summary
First, phonology is very important. Besides thinking in images, you should also think with your hearing.
second, there are two ways to write rhyme: the first is rhyme, and the second is rhythm. There are three skills in rhythm, the first is to use short sentences, the second is to delete redundant words, and the third is not to use passivity if you can take the initiative;
third, read it after writing every time, and read it aloud.
| Thinking after class
Primary difficulty: Use overlapping words to describe colors, such as dark, hard and shiny … How much can you write? Put these overlapping strings into a poem.
intermediate difficulty: find a prefix, such as "old"-old horse, tiger, mouse, old street, old cow and hometown, and string a story with them.
advanced difficulty: make a sound you like, find out these rhyming words and phrases, and string out an article.
We are going to learn idioms in the next class. You may ask: What's so good about idioms? Isn't it just the back? Do you want to know and tell idiom stories?
No, the most important thing of idioms is not memorizing, but using idioms to stimulate brain power, generate more creativity and create your own new description. How to do it? I'll reveal it for you next time!
