A Happy Life (Psalm 1)

Scripture: Psalm 1

Meditate:

? The first poem is a poem of wisdom, also known as the law poem, which means "guidance".

? In the first chapter, scripture shows that there are only two kinds of people in the world: one is the blessed one, who chooses to live in fear of God and takes God's law (guidance) as the highest criterion for being a man; The other is the victim, who breaks the law at will, goes with the flow, follows his physical and mental desires and eventually becomes the son of cynics. Therefore, the first section clearly points out that true happiness is based on careful choice. If you want to live a good life, you must first reject evil and guard against depravity. Life is a one-way street, you can't turn around and start all over again, so you can't take every step lightly. Therefore, we should beware of three temptations: the wicked, the sinner and the scoffer.

? The "wicked" here refers to treacherous people. Their hearts are full of all kinds of bad ideas, tempting people with weak will and poor discrimination to go astray. A "criminal" refers to a person who publicly commits a crime through his own behavior. They live a sinful life and are like a duck to water in this fallen world. "Sniff" refers to an arrogant person. They despise God, resist God, ignore God's truth and commit all kinds of filth. The poet advised us to guard against these three kinds of people in trouble and used three verbs: from, standing and sitting.

? "Follow" means "walking", blindly following, following and obeying; "Standing" means "being in it" and being trapped in sin. Instead of repentance, it is plausible and used to it. "Sitting" means being the leader of criminals, taking the lead in doing evil and resisting God.

? Blessed people reject evil, whether it is attitude, action or thought. What can make us overcome sin? The poet told us that this is the word of God: "Just love the law of the Lord and think day and night". This is to protect our minds from the temptation of suffering. The concrete expression of the law of loving the Lord is to think day and night and not let the word of God leave our thoughts. How can we keep the word of God from leaving our minds? That is to say, we should always read, recite and meditate, let God's Word fill our minds and learn God's Word anytime and anywhere. Such people are blessed. 」

? When we keep God's words in mind, our life is like a tree by a stream, which naturally bears rich fruits, glorifies God and benefits people. But the wicked are not. Their lives are like chaff scattered by the wind, which has no value or meaning. Therefore, when the last day of parting comes, they will not be able to stand before the judge.

? Although life is full of unpredictable possibilities, "the Lord knows the way of the righteous", in which "knowledge" refers to action, protection, care and love. The Lord loves those who love his words and meditate day and night. His eyes always look at them, guide their way and lead them to the richness of life. The path of the wicked is doomed to perish.

Check:

? The first poem put the fate of life and death before me, forcing me to make a careful choice: which way should I go? If I want to take the right path, what about my daily life of reading classics? Have I ever loved God's Word so much that I miss it day and night? Have you ever "opened your eyes at night and thought about yourself"? Have you worked hard to remember God's Word and recited it tirelessly? Do you read, meditate and recite with admiration and awe?

? Looking back on my life of reading classics, we can see that the standards are far from each other. Many times, I lack the heart of true love, my mouth is close and my heart is far away. I wasted my time on the feast of ignorance, sitting down to eat and drink, getting up and playing, wasting my time. In this new year, the Lord reminds me once again through this passage that we should get up early, start with loving God's word, and train ourselves to be close to God by reading the Bible and listening to his whispers.

Application:

1. Specify this year's Bible study plan, put God's word first every morning, insist on Bible study time, and read the Bible with love.

2. Specify this year's recitation plan, in addition to the new title recitation card, but also the recitation plan of the whole book, and record the daily recitation progress from time to time.

Pray:

? Lord, your word is a lamp under my feet and a light on the road. Let this sentence become a reality of my life, not an empty talk. Let me love your words and long to be close to you in your words. When I am bored, please give me enough strength to overcome laziness, reflect on myself in time and return to the road of blessing.
