Keywords: "lonely maid"; Nature; Humanistic feelings
English romantic poetry pays attention to the natural expression of people's feelings, and the language used is true and simple, without flowery rhetoric and cliches. Wordsworth lived in a period of all-round industrial development in Europe. The so-called capital civilization and indifferent interpersonal relationship brought by industrial civilization, as well as people's obvious money worship, made poets start to stay away from urban life. In addition, he came into contact with Rousseau's ideas about "natural gods" and "natural people", and he hated this industrial society that destroyed natural beauty even more. He began to live in seclusion in nature for a long time and wrote many poems praising the harmony between nature and people.
I. Introduction to Poets and Humanistic Thought
Humanism originated in the Renaissance. Its core idea is to make people realize people's value, advocate people to pursue real life, pursue people's personality liberation and freedom and equality, attach importance to people's experience and rationality, and advocate people to know nature and live in harmony with it. The life and hard work of rural people is the object of Wordsworth's concern. His masterpiece The Lonely Maid is a typical example. The owner of the poem, the reaper, looks lonely on the surface, but her heart is kind, hardworking, strong and loves life. In the poem Lonely Maiden, the poet takes an ordinary girl who sings loudly when harvesting on the plateau as the center of the poem. Through a series of descriptions of this young girl, the poet's infinite love for the working people is contained in this ordinary poem. The following will analyze the humanistic thoughts involved in each poem one by one.
Secondly, the humanistic thought of poetry is analyzed in detail.
This poem has four verses. The beautiful singing voice of the girl who worked hard on the plateau is a main line of this poem.
1, the beauty praises the efforts of the girls.
The first part of this poem introduces us to a beautiful and young girl who sings loudly when harvesting crops. She stood alone in the high field, "one reaps and one sings" and "one cuts a bundle". Hard-working girls and the vast plateau with broad vision have formed a beautiful scenery that has to be paid attention to. In this way, a natural painting seems to appear in front of the reader.
2. Singing conveys love for life.
In the second section, the poet first skillfully uses two sets of foil, namely, the crisp sound of a hopeful nightingale in the desert and the warm cuckoo sound in Nabury Islands. The nightingale's clear singing brings hope and courage to lonely and helpless travelers in the desolate desert, but the poet did say that although the nightingale is very popular with travelers who travel hard, it is not as moving as the beautiful girl's singing, thus highlighting her inspiring and energetic singing; In spring, the cuckoo's loud singing dispelled the cold in the Hebrides and broke the silence of the island, but it was not stimulated by the reaper's singing. The reaper lived a quiet and comfortable life in the plateau, fields and deep valleys. Here the air is fresh, the birds are singing and the flowers are fragrant, the streams are gurgling, the mountains are tall and lush, and the people live and work in peace. This will make the noisy and flashy city produced by the industrial society even more unbearable to survive.
3. The content of the guess includes love.
This poem mainly focuses on the poet's speculation about the content of the song. The poet boldly put forward three ideas, including his concern for the working people. He wondered if the girl was talking about the hardships of a long time ago, or complaining about the cruel war many years ago, or singing a song that is now known to everyone? In her songs, there is a past and a future. She seems to be singing about human beings, nature, past sadness or present hope. This girl represents the industrious people. She is simple, hardworking, open-minded and strong. Her singing is the spice of plain life, and her labor is the guarantee of joy.
4. Eternal singing creates harmony.
In the fourth quarter, the poet concentrated on listening to the girl singing for the first time, immersed in this wonderful singing. Later, he climbed the hill, which was a long distance. Although the girl's song is far away, it remains in the poet's heart for a long time, echoing in his heart and spreading in his mind. The girl can't see or hear this song, but he is still intoxicated with the wonderful singing.
Third, the conclusion
The hero of this poem calls on people to get rid of the weakness of human nature and advocate being close to nature and loving natural life. In the poet's eyes, nature is the source of human life, man and nature should live in harmony, and man should constantly purify his mind from nature.
Generally speaking, this poet's poems are not far from reality, and we can see many ordinary people in his poems. In his works, the poet did not deliberately describe the misfortunes of these people, but praised their good character and perseverance with respect and enthusiasm. He expressed his feelings by writing poems, praising the beauty of rural life and working people.
