Seven poems in September

The seven verses in September are as follows:

1. Chongyang Denggao. Huang Ju flowers don't wait for autumn, Cornus officinalis has been inserted, so I go back to my old place. There is no goose in the old garden to know who the guest is. I climb the mountain and lean against the building alone. Cornus officinalis, plant name. The aroma is pungent and strong, and can be used as medicine. According to the ancient custom, on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, Pei Cornu can exorcise evil spirits. Cornus officinalis has its own fragrance, unlike laurel and orchid.

"Miscellanies of Xijing" Volume III: "On September 9, Pei Cornus ate bait and drank chrysanthemum wine, which made people live longer." Tang Wangshi's "On Mountain Holidays Thinking of Shandong Brothers": "If you know where your brother is climbing, there is one less person everywhere."

2. Yellow goose. It's impossible to climb the mountain on the 9th. There are yellow flowers everywhere and it feels cool in autumn. Who knows who it is? On this Double Ninth Festival, geese silently pass through the thatched cottage. The word "wild goose" means a flock of wild geese flying around in rows. Flocks of geese often fly around with the word "one" or "people", so they are called.

From Tang Bai Juyi's "The night view of Jianglou is fresh and strange, and it is played as a piece of water outside the water supply department": "The wind turns over a thousand pieces of whitewater, and the geese point to the sky." Song Fan Chengda's poem "North Gate Covers zhoushan road" says: "yan zhen is blocked by the river, and Meishan Mountain Road owes the creek bridge."

1. Introduction

Seven-character quatrains are a genre of China's traditional poetry, which belongs to the category of modern poetry. There are four poems in this style, each with seven words, and there are strict metrical requirements in rhyme and adhesion.

This poetic style originated from Yuefu songs in the Southern Dynasties or Yuefu folk songs in the Northern Dynasties, or can be traced back to folk songs in the Western Jin Dynasty, and it matured in the Tang Dynasty. Representative works include Wang Changling's Poems on Newly Built Lotus Inn, Li Bai's Poems on Newly Built Baidicheng, and Du Fu's Poems on Riverside Meeting Li Guinian.

2. Genre evolution

Seven-character quatrain is a kind of quatrain, which is called seven-character quatrain for short, and its origin is not clear. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, people thought that the Four Musts originated from Xiao Gang, Yu Shinan or the four great masters, and all of them referred to the seven-character law. Although in its development process, the Seven Juexing was indeed dominated by the law, like the Five Juexing, the formation of the ancient Juexing still preceded the law.

Modern scholars at home and abroad generally tend to regard Yuefu folk songs in the Northern Dynasties as the source of seven-character ancient poems. Some scholars also believe that the source of seven-character ancient poetry should be traced back to the folk songs of the Western Jin Dynasty.
