About the origin of bridge-the name of bridge, poetry couplets, and the legends and stories of bridge ~ The characteristics of various bridges and the origin of names ~:

Lugou Bridge is located in the southwest of Beijing. About this broken bridge in West Lake, it was first called Duanjia Bridge.

a long time ago, the Baisha dike of the West Lake wound its way from the lonely mountain to here, and there was only an unknown small wooden bridge, which was closely connected with the shore of the lake. Visitors who want to visit the lonely mountain must pass through this small wooden bridge, which is often broken due to the sun and rain, which is very inconvenient for tourists.

There is a humble hut near the bridge, where a couple named Duan lived. Both of them are kind-hearted and hard-working. The man fishes in the lake for a living, and the woman sets up a wine stand at the door, and the seller makes local wine. Because of the bad taste of wine, customers seldom come to the door and business is light.

one day, at sunset in the western hills, the couple were just about to close the door when an old man with white hair came, who said that he had come from a long distance and was penniless, and asked to stay overnight. Seeing that he was old and pitiful, Duan Jia and his wife warmly asked him to stay. They also burned a carp that had just been caught from the West Lake and played a bowl of home-brewed local wine to entertain the old man. You're welcome, the old man drank three bowls in a row, then fell on the bed and fell asleep.

The next morning, when the white-haired old man left, he said, "Thank you for your kind hospitality. I have three wine medicines here, which can help you make good wine." Say and take out three red wine medicine, say goodbye.

Duan Jia and his wife put the old man's three medicines in the wine-making jar, and the wine brewed was scarlet in color, extremely sweet and fragrant. Since then, every day, customers are crowded, Duan Jia scarlet wine is famous in Hang Cheng, and business is booming day by day. Duan Jia and his wife tore down the hut and built a restaurant. In order to thank the white-haired old man, they saved a sum of money and prepared to thank him well.

the years have passed, and it has been three years. This winter, the West Lake was snowing heavily, and the white-haired old man braved the snow to come to Duanjia Restaurant. When the couple saw the benefactor coming, they were overjoyed and asked the old man to stay in his house for a long time. However, the old man will say goodbye the next day. When leaving, Duan Jia and his wife took out three hundred and twenty pieces of silver and gave it to the old man. The old man declined with a smile and said, "Thank you for your kindness. I am a lonely old man. What's the use of asking for so much money?" You still use it in the most important place! " After that, he walked through the snow to the bridge. Duan Jia and his wife stood at the door to see each other off. They saw that the old man had just stepped onto the small wooden bridge, his foot slipped, the bridge broke and the old man fell into the lake. The couple rushed to the rescue, and suddenly saw the white-haired old man standing on the lake, walking on the ground, smiling and waving to them, and drifting away.

Duan Jia and his wife realized that the old man with white hair was not a mortal. Remembering what the old man said when he left, he used the money to build a tall bluestone arch bridge and a pavilion at the bridge head. From then on, people who visit the West Lake are no longer afraid of slippery roads

The origin of Tengqiao was as early as before the Ming Dynasty, and Tengqiao was already an important passage from Fuzhou to Fujian and Guangdong.

At that time, several small villages, such as Xikengguo, Hanqiaokou, Zhangjiakou, Charming Garden, Yangjiaxiang and Qiujiapai, were scattered on both sides of the road. During the Hongwu period of Ming Dynasty, Roche moved here again. Due to the rapid population growth, the village gradually expanded, and gradually became a larger village with small villages such as Qiujiapai and Hanqiaokou.

At that time, there was a small river in front of the village, on which there was a wooden bridge for people to pass. There is a huge maple tree next to the wooden bridge, and Ficus pumila vines are attached to it. Later, with the flourishing of Ficus pumila vines, many vines fluttered in the wind and wrapped around the bridge. Therefore, pedestrians call this place "Tengqiao Village".

once, a governor rode by this bridge, and suddenly he tripped over the vines beside the bridge, and all his men and women fell into the river under the bridge. When asked about the place name "Tengqiao" village, the official said that the water and grass here were unfavorable, so they all went there and changed the water to "horse", which is the word "Teng". "Tengqiao" got its name from this.

The legend of Jiuxianqiao

Jiuxianqiao area in the eastern suburb of Beijing used to be a desolate place. From the nearby place names such as Liugong Tomb and Wangye Tomb, we can know that it used to be a graveyard for dignitaries. Twenty years ago, I saw a remnant tablet by the river of Jiuxianqiao. The base seat of the tombstone is a beautifully carved tortoise. The tablet body and the base seat have been separated by several meters. The left side of the remnant tablet is Manchu, and the right side is Chinese. I don't know Manchu. From the incomplete Chinese characters, I can still find such a sentence: "I am very sorry for the first-class elite ...". It can be seen that the owner of the grave is not an ordinary person. There is a story about the origin of the name of the bridge.

Once upon a time, there was no Lugou Bridge, but only a ferry. A Shanxi man named Lu was doing business near the ferry, and his business was very prosperous. One autumn, with money, he took Tian's ferry boat to go back to his hometown to visit relatives. Unexpectedly, when Tian saw that Lu had a lot of money, he had a bad heart, drowned Lu in Yongding River, took the silver dollar for himself and started a business.

The following year, Tian gave birth to a son. When the son was 1 years old, he had to punch Tian three times a day, and he would cry if he didn't let him. Tian was very upset and asked the old monk for advice. The old monk said to Tian, your son was reincarnated from the murdered Lushi and will settle accounts with you. Hearing this, Tian panicked and begged the old monk for mercy to save his life. The old monk said, "It's not difficult to save you, as long as you take out all the robbed money to build a bridge so that passers-by will not be harmed by you people." Tian listened to the old monk's words and invited many craftsmen to build a bridge. After the bridge was repaired, Tian asked the old monk for the name of the bridge. The old monk smiled and said, "You are paying Lu's debt. I think it is called Lugou Bridge." The legend of Lugou Bridge has been passed down to this day.

2. Luding Bridge

The Dadu River is fast-flowing, with mountains and mountains on both sides, and only one iron cable bridge can cross it. This iron cable bridge is the Luding bridge that the Red Army must seize in the north.

-"Flying over Luding Bridge"

The inscription on the Imperial Luding Bridge on the east bank of Luding Bridge records: "The bridge was completed ... and I was deeply grateful for the drawing, giving it the name Luding." It turned out that "Luding Bridge" was the name given by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. "Lushui" means Lushui, and "Ding" means stability, which means that after the completion of the bridge, the people in Lushui area can settle down. In fact, Dadu River and Lushui River are two rivers. Emperor Kangxi made a mistake.

Of course, Kangxi's mistakes also have a cause. At that time, Nengtai in Sichuan did not know the situation on the spot, believed in folklore and thought that Dadu River.
