Liu Chengzhang, a contemporary poet and essayist, a member of the Chinese Writers Association, a member of the Communist Party, is a native of Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. Born in 1937, he graduated from the Chinese Department of Shaanxi Normal University in 1961. He began literary creation in middle school. He wrote poetry in high school, then rewritten lyrics, then drama, and then prose.
He once served as a teaching assistant in the department, screenwriter of Yan'an Song and Dance Troupe, editor-in-chief of "Literature Man", deputy director of the Literary and Art Department of Shaanxi People's Publishing House, and deputy president of Shaanxi Provincial Publishing House.

He once wrote the famous "Ansai Waist Drum", which was added to the 3rd lesson of the People's Education Press. He also wrote "Loess Love", "Selected Prose of Liu Chengzhang", "Slim Sunshine", "Reading Stele", "Sheep Thinking of Clouds", "Into New York", "Ansai Waist Drum", etc.
I started publishing works when I was in junior high school (1954). He has written poetry, lyrics and scripts, and his lyrics have had a certain impact. Since the 1980s, he has been active in the literary world mainly with prose writing. He has published seven collections of prose, among which "Sheep Thinks of Clouds" won the first Lu Xun Literature Award. Five essays were selected into middle school Chinese textbooks. 7 prose works were selected into 14 versions of Chinese textbooks for colleges, technical secondary schools and middle schools.
