Translation and Annotation of Classical Chinese by Ouyang Xiu's Tutor

Ouyang Xiu's translation and comments on Family Education in Classical Chinese are as follows:

Ouyang Xiu lost his father when he was four years old. His family is poor and has no money to go to school. Ouyang Xiu's mother wrote on the sand with a reed pole and taught him to write. Ouyang Xiu's mother also read him many ancient chapters and asked him to learn to write poetry.

When I was old and had no books to read at home, I went to a scholar's house in the village to borrow books. Sometimes he takes this opportunity to copy them down, but he hasn't finished copying them, but he can recite the article. So that Ouyang Xiu forgot to eat and sleep all day and only concentrated on his studies. His poems and articles written since childhood can be as literary as adults.

Ouyang Xiu (1August 6, 2007-1September 22, 2072), a native of Yongfeng County, Ji 'an City, Jiangxi Province, was born in Mianzhou (now Mianyang City, Sichuan Province) in Jingdezhen for four years (1007).

Ouyang Xiu was the earliest literary leader who created a generation of literary style in the literary history of Song Dynasty. He, Han Yu, Liu Zongyuan, Su Shi, Su Xun, Su Zhe, Wang Anshi and Ceng Gong are also called "eight masters of Tang and Song Dynasties", and Han Yu, Liu Zongyuan and Su Shi are also called "four masters of literature through the ages".

He led the poetry innovation movement in the Northern Song Dynasty, and inherited and developed Han Yu's ancient prose theory. His high achievements in prose creation and his correct theory of ancient prose complement each other, thus creating a generation of writing style. Ouyang Xiu not only changed the style of writing, but also innovated the style of poetry.

He has also made great achievements in historiography. He once majored in the Book of the New Tang Dynasty and wrote the History of the New Five Dynasties alone. There is a collection of Ouyang Wenzhong's works.
