Why do exam essays require "except poetry"?

There are three reasons:

First: Poetry is now very controversial. There are no rigid standards like the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and it is difficult to judge whether it is good or bad

Second: Our country’s literature is dominated by modern vernacular, and poetry is a minor category. Exam questions cannot deviate from the education syllabus. Writing poetry cannot be applied in life and cannot be considered a basic skill.

Third: The teacher can’t understand it. Writing poetry requires a lot of annotations to understand, which takes a lot of time from the marking teacher, and there is not so much time for correcting papers in high school and college entrance examinations.
