1, the use of energy-saving lamps (LEDs)
Use LED energy-saving lamps. The initial cost of LED lighting is high, and the price of light bulb is several times that of ordinary fluorescent lamp, while the later use cost is low, the power consumption is low and the service life is long. Ordinary fluorescent lamps have low initial cost, average service life, higher power consumption than LED and much lower power consumption than incandescent lamps.
2. Green travel
People who need to drive to work can choose cars with small displacement and low fuel consumption. In Europe and America, a large number of people use hybrid cars, charging at night and traveling during the day. However, considering that 70% of the electricity in China is thermal power, I personally don't think that HEV is an environmentally friendly choice until this data comes down. Because you have to consider the battery pollution.
But if you can choose public transportation, cycling and walking, it is of course low-carbon. Personally, I think public transportation in China is very convenient. Many city buses have their own lanes, and the subway and BRT are reasonably designed and humanized, especially the prices are very close to the people. Regarding Uber, Didi, carpooling actually consumes less energy than driving by yourself.
3. Vegetarian-based
I didn't want to mention this at first, because China's food culture has a far-reaching influence, and everyone's physique and needs are different.
But vegetarian food is healthier and more environmentally friendly than non-meat food (animal husbandry needs to consume a lot of water and energy, and the use of excreta and antibiotics is a great burden on the environment). It is good for yourself and the environment.
4. It doesn't have to be disposable.
No matter from the point of view of quality of life or economy, we should reduce disposable use. Convenience is not the only pursuit of life, and health and sustainability have attracted more and more attention.
There was a time when the use of plastic bags was prohibited in the market, and major supermarkets charged for the use of plastic bags. Some people are getting used to shopping in cloth bags. Although there are still plastic bags circulating in the market, we all know that this is "white garbage", so the usage is controlled to some extent.
Now there are degradable plastic bags on the market, most of which are cassava flour, which is another environmental protection choice without cloth bags.
5. Save electricity
Unplug the small appliances after use. Because if you don't cut off the power supply, there will still be power loss. If you don't use it for a long time, you will accumulate a lot of inexplicable power consumption, and there may be fire hazards. Start with small things, such as unplugging the mobile phone after charging, mosquito coils, hair dryers, and some large and small electrical appliances. You can try unplugging after use.
