Stylistic Theory under Different Poetic Theories
The poetic theories of the first seven poets are not completely consistent, but their styles occupy a prominent position in their poetic theories. The representatives of the first seven schools emphasized "Ge Gu, tiaoyi" (recording people in hidden mountains), saying that "lofty people are Ge, while enlightened people are tiaoyi" (refuting any essays). Wang Shizhen, the representative of the last seven sons, said: "Only people can think, thinking can produce a tone, and tuning can produce a style. Thinking for talent, adjusting to thinking, and adjusting to the situation. " They all think that style is an important part of poetry. Li Mengyang also said: "When poetry reached the Tang Dynasty, the old tune was dead, but it had its own Tang tune to sing, and the highest tune was still under control. The Song people dominated the tune, so the Tang tune also died. " Wang Shizhen also said: "I am a person who suppressed the Song Dynasty because I cherish the style of writing." (Preface to Selected Poems of Song Dynasty) They think that the style of poetry declined after the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Therefore, they advocate that "literature must be in Qin and Han dynasties, and poetry must be in the prosperous Tang dynasty", and they advocate imitating the poems of Han, Wei and Tang dynasties in style.
