Ascending the Mountain is a seven-metrical poem written by Du Fu, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty, in Kuizhou in the autumn of the second year of Dali (767). The first four sentences describe the scenery, describe the experience of climbing mountains, closely follow the seasonal characteristics of autumn and describe the empty and lonely scenery by the river. Eight Poems of Autumn Prosperity is Du Fu's masterpiece when he lived in Kuizhou in his later years to escape the war. Written in the first year of Dali (AD 766), the poet was 56 years old.
