Since 1987, his works have been published in Poetry Magazine, Star Poetry Magazine, Green Wind, China Poetry, Poetry Tide, Tianjin Literature, Tianjin Poet, He Jiang Literature, Sunshine, Shandong Literature, Times Literature and Popular Daily. He is the author of five books, including Walking in Shuicheng and Selected Works of Zhang Guilin. China People's Broadcasting Station has played the author's poems with music for many times.
His works are collected by the National Library of China, Fudan University Library, Tsinghua University Library and Zhejiang University Library. Zhang Guilin's recent works won the Second Watertown Literature Award in Liaocheng, Shandong Literature, Qilu Evening News and the first national online literature competition sponsored by Netease. The writer's works have been selected in various anthologies.
