What are the main types of poems in Tang Dynasty?

As can be seen from Xin Qiji's works, there are the following characteristics in the poems about history in Tang and Song Dynasties:

1, the combination of "poetry" and "history" is the unity of literariness and historicity.

Xin Qiji's "Shui Long Yin Deng Jian Kang Yi Qing Pavilion" fully shows the richness and faltering of the protagonist's spiritual world, and deeply explores the potential function of Ci poetry in expressing complex mentality. It is not a simple description or repetition of historical skills or facts, but a literariness of historical events, which is re-understood and structured through the unique poetry of literary forms, and finally becomes a literary style different from history. Among them, there are historical facts as evidence, not empty arguments or simple sensationalism.

2. The unity of "praising history" and "expressing ambition", that is, expressing strong concern for real politics through chanting history.

In Xin Qiji's poems, a large number of ancient heroes were praised, among which was "immortal" Dayu. Zhuge Liang of "Longzhong Wolong"; Huan Wen, who started the Northern Expedition and lamented that "the tree is so beautiful"; Emperor Wu of Song who devoured Wan Li; Li Guang, the flying general who "recognized the tiger in front of the mountain"; Lian Po, the old general who can still eat, and so on. The author praises this large number of heroes in order to express his heroic mind and ambition to make contributions to the country. It can be seen that reciting history is the driving force and expressing one's will is the ultimate goal. The content of "ambition" expressed in this kind of poetry is mostly the ideal of making contributions and the feelings of worrying about the rise and fall of the country.

3. The combination of "ancient" and "present" means that it has unlimited free extension ability in the span of time and space.

For example, in "Ode to the Jade Pavilion and Nostalgia for the Past", although the word is called Nostalgia, it expresses a strong feeling of omnipresence, grief and indignation towards reality, but it is implicitly spit out and extremely depressed and ups and downs. From this, we can get a glimpse of the creative ways of historical poems in Tang and Song Dynasties. Usually, first of all, the scenery we see in front of us causes us to think about the past, and then, the dependence on the ancients causes us to think about the current era, society or self-existence state.
