break down the barriers

At the closing concert of the Music Festival, the multimedia opera "Fun Journey" adopted a brand-new creative way, which embodied a brand-new comedy mode-electronic opera in the relationship between the essence of language and human body language. This work transcends the traditional concepts of theater, drama and music, and the performer Miguel azmi leads us into the whirlwind of infinite imagination and the ever-changing creative maze. He integrated sound and image into the stage performance structure, and the sound and image were processed electronically in real time, accompanied by sound, poetry, action, music and painting, creating multiple lines and sensory counterpoint. The fun tour combines sound, light, body and movement, and only one performer can achieve the perfect combination of challenging music and drama, opening up a brand-new scene for electronic music and breaking the boundaries between music, drama and opera.

This year's music festival has arranged international electronic music competition, a series of electronic concerts, academic lectures on electronic music, and activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Polish electronic music and Max Matthews' development of computer music production software. By participating in these large-scale activities, Professor Zhang made the international electronic music community know more about the development trend of electronic music in China and strengthened the exchange and cooperation between Chinese and foreign electronic music.

Bourges International Electronic Music Competition is the oldest, highest specification and largest international electronic music competition. It has been held for 34 times so far. As the first China composer to serve as a judge of the International Electronic Music Competition, Zhang represented China and Asia (other judges were from France, the United States, Germany, Britain, Switzerland and Poland) in all the selection processes of the preliminaries and finals, which was rare in previous competitions, and reflected the influence of modern electronic music in China in this field. There are 5 10 electronic music works from all over the world, and the longest one is 58 minutes. The contestants are not limited to nationality or age. The youngest composer is in his twenties and the oldest composer is in his seventies. The organizing committee of the competition has set three categories: concert works, audio and multimedia works and composer awards. Among them, concert works include works with complete aesthetic concepts, electronic music works with titles and mixed works with musical instruments (including electronic devices and voices). Audio and multimedia works include multimedia works, drama and dance electronic music works, installation works and sound works with natural sound as the main content; Composer awards include the Master Achievement Award with more than 25 years of electronic music creation history and the Young Composer Award for students. Guan Peng, a doctoral student of China Modern Electronic Music Center of Central Conservatory of Music, won the Young Composer Award for his electronic music work Humai. Funded by UNESCO, the award has carried out research activities in world-renowned electronic music research institutions such as France, and the new works created will be performed globally at the 2008 French International Electronic Music Festival, which is the first time that the second generation of electronic music composers in China have stood out and won awards in major international competitions.
