The background of the story is the wave of productism that swept the world in 1950s. Nie Luda was elected as a member of the Chilean Congress in 1945, and joined the Chilean Production Party in the same year. After 1946, he was forced into exile until 1952. Under the influence of Nie Luda, Mario attended a local political rally. Just as he was reading a poem dedicated to Nie Luda at the invitation of his master, there was a riot at the meeting, and he was suppressed by the police. He died unfortunately. Therefore, at the end of the play, when Nie Luda returned to his exile island several years later, he only saw that Beatrice and her son gave birth to Mario, a boy named after Nie Luda PaPrito.
