The creative background of Footprints on the Beach;
Footprints on the Beach is a song adapted from the Christian poem Footprints. Cowell first thought of writing a song based on this poem, and then he asked composers and producers David Kruger and Pell magnusson if they could write something to finish the song. They held a song writing meeting at Richard Page Marbury's home, and successfully finished the single the next day.
In an interview with HitQuarters, magnusson said that they thought this song was suitable for Westlife, but it was finally given to Luis. When Cowell mentioned the idea of this song to Lewis, she said it was "quite interesting". Cowell also managed to contact a production team to complete the song.
