What kind of poetic form is Ci?

Ci is the stylistic name of literary works; Germinated in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty, it is the most representative literary genre in the Song Dynasty (referred to as "style"); Therefore, it is often called "Song Ci".

What style is this? Most people know the style of "poetry", so let's explain it from poetry first:

Poetry is mostly in a neat format, such as four words, five words and seven words. There is singing or not singing when creating.

Ci, on the other hand, wants to find a breakthrough outside the neat word format to increase the charm of singing.

So, first, add one or two meaningless function words to the neat poetry format; Such as: ah, ah, ...; Or dispensable "you, you, you, you …" and so on.

Similar to the popular lyrics now, there will also be "Ah ~ ~ the rose in my dream" and "Baby ……".

Because it is added to the ready-made neat poem to set off the text, it is also called "interlining".

Later, it gradually evolved, and in the position of these interlayers, meaningful words were written to increase the feelings and explanations of the text. In this way, the number of words in a sentence in the work is long and short; So words are also called "long and short sentences".

However, the biggest incentive for poetry to enter ci lies in the fact that scholars in Song Dynasty like to sing poems with geisha. Therefore, when the word format is gradually mature, many educated musicians write a word for a certain situation, and customize the number of words, the level and the rhyme of each word. Then, by constantly leveling the cadence, it presents a sense of melody. (For example, "flat and steady" and "flat and steady" are different. )

Just like a modern composer writing a tune; It's just that in Song Dynasty, scholars used two scales, namely "Ping" and "Yi", while in modern times it may be five or seven scales.

People who like this new melody will give this form a name, such as "Dad, Yimei, Huanxisha, Bodhisattva Man, Water Turn …". These names are the so-called "epigraph names".

As long as the new word format is popular, someone will "fill in" their own different words to describe their feelings according to the format of the word. So anyone can choose a tablet format to "fill in the words".

So can you!

Let me introduce a simple epigraph, Yu Meiren:

Formally, the position of "Zhong" can be flat or silent. "Rhyme" means that the words here need to rhyme.

Average, average even (rhyme), average even (rhyme).

Average, average and average (rhyme), average and average, average and average (rhyme).

Average, average even (rhyme), average even (rhyme).

Average, average and average (rhyme), average and average, average and average (rhyme).

With Li Houzhu's "Yu Meiren", we can observe the phenomenon that "the length of each sentence, the fluency of each word, and every rhyme place conform to the format".

When is the spring flower and autumn moon? How much do you know about the past? The small building was easterly again last night, and the old country could not bear to look back on the moon.

Carved fences and jade bricks should still exist, but Zhu Yan changed them. How much sadness can you have? Like a river flowing eastward.
