Introduction of College Students' Poetry Schools

During the 20th century1980s, there was an upsurge of poetry creation in Chinese universities, including spontaneous folk poetry clubs, poetry groups organized by schools and inter-school poetry and literature organizations, which created a large number of poets for the development of modern poetry. The poetry schools formed by these poetry groups are collectively called college students' poetry schools. * * * The college students' poetry creation team has four echelons, with strong creative power. The emerging poetry schools after 1980s and 1990s mostly take the network as their camp, with diverse styles, distinctive language and outstanding ideas. Poetic style mostly comes from obscure poems, and the themes are mostly emotional experience, life experience, social experience and reflection. Most university poets are not bound by professional knowledge during their study, but love literature, thinking and feeling, thus flashing sparks of thought and showing the ideals and pursuits of young people in the new era.
