Eternal security (1) (9 1- 17)
There is a poem by Isaac Watts, which is regarded as probably the best poem in English. It begins with the first few sentences of the scripture we studied today. This is based on the most wonderful part of this poem. These ninety poems are the only ones that we are accused of writing by Moses. We should remember that all theology begins from section 1 in Chapter 3 to section 14, because there, the gods of the Old Testament and the New Testament, the gods described in the whole Bible, revealed themselves: (1) He is a' holy' god; He is the god of creation. God also revealed himself through his words. He spoke in the fire, that is, he spoke in pain and suffering, and he spoke in the chaos peculiar to this world. He came down to save his people, just as he did in Moses' time. He often does this. Two thousand years ago, he borrowed it? Christ walks; When we were alive, he worked on us through the power of the Holy Spirit. (5) by? Moses, who gave Israel a Covenant relationship of love; Through this relationship, he gave himself to us in his words and teachings (Torah). God also expects his people to show obedience, love and loyalty to him in return for the nature of forgiveness in love. The most wonderful thing is that this God (VI) promised to be with us in an intimate way, and (VII) told us his' personal' name as a guarantee of his promise.
We can say that this poem has two extremes. On the one hand, life is pitiful and short; On the other hand, it is an eternal miracle of God, but our poet immediately pulled these two poles together from the beginning! He called on God from the beginning. He used the personal name of Jehovah, God, which is the name of God in Hebrew. He used this name as his first word. He told Yahweh how wonderful it is that God is with us-his poor creation-even though there is a terrible gap between God and man. In addition, he went on to say that this kind of' witness' can be found from generation to generation. Therefore, there is no reason why we should not repeat the wonderful exclamations that began here today and apply them to the life of Christ and the church (see Deuteronomy 3: 27). This is our home, our residence, and we know it belongs to God. Because God never changes. He is the same God, who created the earth and the world and gave it birth from the womb of time (see Peter 38).
Eternal security (2) (9 1- 17) (continued)
Where is the person (v. 3)? Our poet declared that you turned Enos into dust-please note that it wasn't Adam. Adam failed in God's plan of love for his life. The fourth chapter of Genesis shows us how Adam (human) became a redeemed man among Cain and Lamech, Ada and Zillah (male and female) until today. They are self-centered, selfish and don't consider the needs of their neighbors. But Gen 4: 26 goes on to talk about the birth of Enos. Enos is another name, which means human or human, a new kind of person, humble and sincere, "God-fearing person" and "calling on the name of the Lord". Of course, Mr. and Mrs. Enos will never forget that they need to be rescued from the bondage of sin like ordinary people. God shouted to all mankind,' descendants of Adam, go home.' Of course, enos already knows how wonderful it is to go home. In verses 8 and 4, the poet stared in awe? In the sky, he shouted, "What is this that you care about him?" Adam is too self-centered. He wouldn't shout like that. But this psalm was written for the children of God's covenant. Between Moses and Israel.
Ancient peoples, including philosophical Greeks (Paul said this in the first chapter of 1 Corinthians). 1), everyone regards heaven as something that separates God from man. Only Israel in the world claims that it is sin that separates God from man. For them, God is not "above". If the communication with God can be described by a picture of living together in the Garden of Eden, then it is sin that drives mankind out of this beautiful life (Gen. 3: 22-24). Therefore, people now live outside the Garden of Eden, under the wrath of God. People think of and even know our hidden evil God (v. 8), and he may abandon all mankind, so people are amazed (v. 7), depressed and depressed. The same poem points out that God even makes these evils line up in front of him and point them out in turn, as if they were reviewing the police force one by one. So our sins are no longer hidden, but are shone in the spotlight on your face? It's illuminated.
Therefore, our lives are corrupted by sin, not by natural decay. That is to say, because we are sinners, at the appointed time, it is really over. How sad it is that we spend all the years like a sigh!
Sections 9 to 12 raise an interesting question. Most people will explain the inevitable death from a scientific point of view. They regard death as the decline of the natural function of the human body until it reaches a terminal. But the poet's prayer for wisdom (this is also what Paul said in the first chapter of 1 Corinthians). 1) is the result of man's understanding of his impending death and God's anger at his sinful and rebellious nature. His rebellious nature made him unable to stand firm in awe and surprise, and he was shocked by God's aversion to sin, which was completely Hebrew, definitely not Greek.
In sections 13 to 17, the poet ends his poem in a way that neither ancient nor modern "Greeks" would have thought, because modern westerners have been liberated from all such ideas that God exists and religion is different from superstition. Please note that the poet did not pray to God for long life, let alone eternal life. In the third section, we see God saying to people, "Go home, because sin has separated you from me." But now, the poet answers God in the same way: "Lord, come back to us." . How long will it take you to change your plans for your servant? Tomorrow morning (don't wait any longer), please be satisfied with your kindness (! ) us, so that we can be happy all our lives. If this happens, we need not be afraid of death. Because your kindness is stronger than death. (Song Baliu)
Finally, he prayed for four things: (1) to make the sum of joy in our hearts equal to the sum of our sufferings; (2) Now please show your kindness to us, your servant; (3) Don't forget our children and grandchildren-be sure to let young children and grandchildren experience your commitment. Show your behavior to your servant. Jesus said to them, My father has done things until now, and I have done things. (John 5: 17) The first thing God did was to create the heavens and the earth and everything in them, including man. The second is to create again, to create a new heaven and a new earth, and to create new men and women (Isaiah 66: 22). You promised us to do this and save us from the power of sin and death. Do it to us and those who follow us now! The poet answered? Prayer: (4) Let your joy, your goodness and your beauty prompt us to fulfill your will. The translation of the King James version of Rongmei is better than the joy of the revised standard! Because kindness is beautiful. Someone overheard Charles Kingsley muttering to himself when he was dying: "What a glorious God!" ! What a glorious God!
In this way, we don't have to fear the inevitable death. This fairy, is she full? God's love, kindness, grace and beauty? His tolerant love has created rich life in us. This power of glory even overcame death.
I saw the change and corruption around me.
But you will never change and stay with me forever. (Wright Wright)
The editor of this poem put 90 poems after 89 poems. The latter ends with a declaration of faith, that is, God's eternal love will surely surpass the' end' of Israel's exile. The third volume ends here. However, from the historical facts, we know that God has now restored the lives of his people. The fourth volume begins with this poem, which shows that the ability to declare God's glory is not only better than' exile', but also better than death.
