Christmas day
1On February 25th, people all over the world celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ. Some people celebrate by giving gifts. Children may thank Santa Claus for giving them new toys. They may also go to church with their families. Christmas has so many traditions and symbols that it is difficult to determine how it became today's celebration.
Article 2:
Christmas day
Ah! Christmas morning! Children like to wake up early before dawn and sneak into the living room to check the presents-find any presents with their names, shake them and guess what's inside, and then they may go back to bed and pretend they are still asleep, when their parents will wake them up with "Merry Christmas".
But few people I know get dressed or have an ordinary breakfast first thing on Christmas morning. They just put on their robes or pajamas and then see what's under the Christmas tree. Some Christian families have a tradition of reading biblical stories about the birth of Jesus. Perhaps to remind children that Christmas is Jesus' birthday.
Someone will start taking presents out from under the tree to see whose name is on the package, and then pass them around. Some families will wait until all the gifts have been given out before opening any one, while others will open each one when they receive the gifts. People will say a lot of "thank you" to the gift giver, try on new clothes to see if they fit, and of course, the most interesting toys will be used immediately.
Usually there are some particularly delicious sweets, cakes or biscuits in Christmas gifts, and everyone will taste them. These sweets may be the only breakfast that many people eat on Christmas morning. After the gifts are opened, the room will be tidied up, except where the children play with toys. Everyone should wash up and wear the clothes of the day.
Some people may go to church service on Christmas morning around 10, if their church doesn't have it on Christmas Eve. But most people only watch TV. Most men do. Children can play with their new toys outside or inside, but mothers will prepare Christmas dinner in the kitchen.
