Principle of artificial intelligence poetry writing system

Keywords-artificial intelligence? Literature? Talking about writing

Wen-Liao Haotian, confidant of Tianya Society, humanities experimental class of National College of National People's Congress 16, minister of poetry society.

Just entering the end of May, Beijing ushered in the second summer rain in 20 17 years. Students with morning classes rushed into the world in the rain, and their schoolbags dripped into the classroom. The rain came suddenly and didn't even make people happy.

Like this weather, what makes the world feel cloudy and unpredictable is a push suddenly released by the official WeChat account "Poetry World": "What do you think of the first collection of poems written by robots in human history? 》

In recent years, artificial intelligence has made rapid progress, with "Alpha Dog" beating Li Zaishi in front and "Master" sweeping the chess world in China behind. The pride of mankind has fallen step by step. Gao said: "One day, the machine will make all the music and poems, and our road will be over." It has become a pot of cold water hanging in the hearts of countless people, and it has also become a straw for many people to save their lives in disguise, and a "proud" reservation-yes, we still have poetry.

This sentence can be extended: Yes, we still have poems, which convey emotions. No matter how powerful artificial intelligence is, we can't have emotions, can we?

Therefore, when Poetry World introduced the poems of Xiao Bing, a Microsoft poem-writing robot, to the public, the messages of "anti-poem-writing machine" in the following comments stood firm and had the same caliber: they were all piled up without feelings.

Understandably, "emotion" is recognized as the "highest point", so people who oppose artificial intelligence must adhere to this position. However, the emotion of reading is interactive. When critics say that "everything is piled up without emotion", I also want to know: what kind of emotion do you read these poems with? Is it white paper to dye, or is it full of anger and hostility?

In fact, the poetry machine has long existed, and there is already an app that can automatically fill in metrical poems, but the content filled out is rather vague; The current official WeChat account, commonly known as "Poet Machine", can't compare with "Xiao Bing" in quality. On the battlefield of "poetry" between human beings and artificial intelligence, Xiao Bing was able to deus ex because it really deceived countless readers, and even a publishing house wanted to collect books for it. If the poems it writes can't convey emotions, how can publishers and former readers be moved and attracted?

The founder mentioned that Xiao Bing's learning method is to input a large number of poems, analyze them one by one, and deconstruct the image combination and emotional communication of words. According to this routine, Xiao Bing's research is indeed biased towards techniques. But another experiment attracted people's attention: people sent Xiao Bing a painting that generally gave people the feeling of "spring blossoms facing the sea", but the poem written by Xiao Bing was bright despair:

It can't be said that Xiao Bing's poetry has no emotion-it even has its own style and writing skills, the article introduces-she especially likes birds, the sun, shadows and old locust trees. Moreover, the overall style, whether it is "beauty" or "fear", is very light, such as the thin clouds just rising in the mountains in the early morning, which are brittle from a distance and I don't know where they are.

Generally speaking, it lacks "depth" and "massiness". Interestingly, can this also explain from one side some solidified styles and writing techniques of China modern poets in recent decades, and whether it is helpful to analyze the development of poetry?

So I think, whether Xiao Bing has feelings or not, we must admit that his poems are really enough to discard the false and retain the true and have their own style.

In fact, we don't have to be nervous or treat artificial intelligence with too strong hostility. Because no matter whether it's poetry or Go, they don't come out to "compete", but they have emotions to tell in their chests and ideas to express in their hearts, but some time can't be wasted without poetry and chess. Whether it is poetry or Go, their foothold and fundamental position are not human's "creativity" and "wisdom", but human life. Our life goes on, and our world is full of songs.

Of course, the appearance of "Xiao Bing" will definitely have an impact on the poetry circle. "Professional poets" and "utilitarian poems" may indeed be attacked in a certain period of time. After all, the essence of their life is naturally "competitive". As an author who once wanted to be a "professional poet", I really felt "scared" when I saw this news. However, for the whole poetry circle, its influence is good or bad, depending on people's attitudes and decisions. Blindly resisting can only expose our pride and unwillingness to change our mentality.

Anyway, as a friend said: No matter how good the toys are, people will still like to make snowmen and knead mud.
