Xusanwan castle former site

The former site of Xusanwan Castle is located on the Gobi Desert about 30 kilometers southwest of Gaotai County, Gansu Province, about 5 kilometers east of Camel City and 5 kilometers west of Caogujing City. For the ancient city of Han and Tang Dynasties. The plane is square, 66 meters long from east to west and 84 meters long from north to south. Thousand-Buddha Cave

Thousand Buddha Cave: In front of Manjusri Mountain. As one of the grottoes in manjusri temple, it was dug halfway up the cliff. Built in the Northern Wei Dynasty, it is the Zhiti Cave. The eaves of the three bays outside the cave were rebuilt in the late Qing Dynasty. The mouth of the cave is1.68m high, 3.82m deep, 3.94m wide and 3.64m high in the cave ... The plane is square, and the central column goes straight to the ceiling with a width of 2m. Each side above the altar is divided into three layers, with circular arch niches and beaded niches. Statues were rebuilt for future generations, and most murals were painted out. The top of the grottoes is painted with flying murals of geisha music, the upper right wall is painted with a picture of a saint robbing a thousand buddhas, the middle part is a Buddhist picture, and the lower part is painted with a line of patrons, which is as bright as new.

Manjusri Mountain Grottoes: In the valley of Manjusri Mountain. Caves are mostly distributed on the cliffs of Qianhoushan Mountain. There are more than ten existing caves, most of which have been broken. Thousand Buddha Cave and Ten Thousand Buddha Cave are relatively complete, with a distance of 100 meter, and both belong to Zhiti Cave in the Northern Wei Dynasty. The Thousand-Buddha Cave is located in the north of the Thousand-Buddha Cave. It is larger than the Thousand-Buddha Cave, with a square plane and an early cave with a central column. It seems that it was excavated at the same time. Although the statue has been rebuilt by later generations, some works still maintain the artistic style of the early statues. The murals are colorful and elegant in style.
