Carl Sandberg is an American poet, biographer and journalist. Carl Sandberg, known as the "people's poet", is particularly keen on expressing the optimism and democratic spirit in the Midwest. He used popular language and his usual rhythm to describe the naked and powerful realism in the pioneer era and the American industrial expansion period. One of his early poems, Chicago, is an example. He also wrote elegant lyric poems, such as Fog, and his lyric poems used essential and meticulous imagery style.

1940, Carl Sandberg won the Pulitzer Prize for Historical Works for his work Abraham: The War Years (four volumes, 1939). 195 1 year, he won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry Creation again with the Complete Collection of Poetry (1950).
