Anecdotes of poets in Tang and Song Dynasties

Li Bai jumped over the moon.

In front of the Confucius Temple in Nanjing, there is a Wende Bridge. According to the elders, the moon stood at the bridge head and looked at the water on the fifteenth day of the winter moon. The shadow of the moon reflected in the water was just divided into two halves: one on this side of the bridge and the other on the other side.

Why does the circular shadow of the moon split in half? Here is a story.

According to legend, Li Taibai, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty, once came to Jinling (now Nanjing) and stopped at a restaurant next to Wendeqiao. It happened to be the fifteenth day of the winter moon. In the evening, he sat alone in the restaurant enjoying the moon, drinking and reciting poems. Li Taibai likes the moon best in his life. He says the moon is clean and beautiful. That night, he looked up and saw that the moon in the sky was white and round. He was very happy and had a few more drinks. In the middle of the night, Li Taibai took the opportunity of moving and went downstairs to Wende Bridge. As soon as he stepped onto the bridge, he looked down and suddenly saw the moon fall into the water. With the flow of the river, several black lines were added to Bai Yue's shadow. Li Taibai was drunk at this moment, thinking that the moon was polluted by the river. He didn't take off his boots, opened his hands and jumped off the bridge to catch the moon. Who knows this jump, the moon didn't catch it, but it broke the moon in the water and split in two at once. -the story is handed down like this. Later, people built a platform next to Wende Bridge, which is said to be the place where the great poet Li Taibai enjoyed the moon.

Zhang Zichun and Du Guozhen are collecting and sorting around them.

When Wang Anshi was prime minister, relatives of his wife's family went to Beijing to see Wang Anshi. Wang Anshi invited him to dinner. The next day, Xiao's son dressed up and thought he would give a banquet to invite Wang Anshi. At noon, I feel very hungry, but I dare not leave. It was a long time before Wang Anshi booked a seat. These dishes are all gone. The younger son was surprised at this. I drank a few glasses of wine, served two Hu cakes, and then four pieces of meat. Dinner is about to start, and there is only a vegetable soup next to it. Xiao's son is arrogant. Instead of picking up chopsticks, I just ate a small part of Hu cake, leaving all the edges. Wang Anshi ate the remaining four sides for himself. The youngest son felt ashamed and went back.
