In terms of poetry, the poet Badong Buhai published poems such as "I saw the cut head", "Christmas tree" and "This is their crime" after the war, exposing the reactionary nature of the reactionary clique usurping the fruits of victory in the Anti-Japanese War and suppressing the people. The development of drama is relatively slow, and the outstanding play is Nick Huaquin's three-act drama Portrait of an Artist as a Filipino (1953).
