Tear open the secrets of grassland history with imagination
□ Hong Ke (writer)
I was shocked when I read Feini Zhi's History of World Conquerors in my second year of high school. I also imitated Feini Zhi's style and wrote an unsuccessful novella, The Rider and the Rose. In the next two years, I was basically immersed in the literature and history materials of Central Asia, the Western Regions and Mongolian grasslands, which was the main reason why I left Guanzhong for Xinjiang and lived in the desert of the Western Regions for ten years. These historical documents include Feini Zhi's History of World Conquerors, Raster's Collected Works of History, Vladimirtsov's Mongolian Social System, grouse's Grassland Empire, History of Mongolian Empire, Genghis Khan and the travels of European missionaries in 12 and 13 century.
In my limited reading range, there are two novels with Genghis Khan as the theme. Jing Shangjing and Vasily Young of the Soviet Union both wrote Genghis Khan, who won the Stalin Prize for Literature. Jing Shangjing's Genghis Khan is close to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, with seven historical facts and three fictional points, which is characterized by dullness. Vasily Young's fictional ability is stronger, and his novels are more readable. It's just that the book is about the Great Patriotic War, in which national feelings permeate, making Genghis Khan and his descendants too ugly. Recently, I read a book about Genghis Khan written by an American scholar, which recorded that during the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet Red Army executed the descendants of Genghis Khan's golden family in the dense forest of Kent Mountain in outer Mongolia.
