Appreciation of Li Bai's poems
This poem was written in the early years of Tianbao. Yangshan people are friends made by Li Bai when he traveled to Songshan Mountain in his early years. The two men shared sympathy and friendship. After Yangshan people left, the poet gave this poem to express their feelings.
The whole poem is divided into three levels. The first four sentences are the first floor, describing the scenery of Songshan Mountain, expressing the poet's attachment to Songshan Mountain, and his life of seclusion in the mountains seeking immortality and visiting Taoism.
The first couplet begins with a heroic sentence, and the ancient house seems to refer to the Jade Girl Mountain in Songyang County. The name of Yunv Mountain chosen here corresponds to the ancient house in the previous sentence. Jade girl is a fairy girl in the sky, and the ancient house means fairy residence, which makes the supernatural atmosphere stronger and more desirable.
The realm described in the third and fourth sentences is more magnificent and magical. The moon can't stay, but should stay for a long time and make it in the most appropriate and beautiful position. A bright moon hangs above the tall and green pine trees, and there is a flowing stream below. It not only vividly depicts the beautiful scenery of Songshan Mountain, but also entrusts the noble feelings of hermits.
The fifth and sixth sentences are the second layer, which describes the activities of Yangshan people after they return to the mountain. The poet imagined that Yangshan people would pick fairy grass when they returned, and calamus with purple flowers grew in Yunushan area of Songshan Mountain. This kind of calamus, with nine knots in one inch, can live forever (The Legend of Immortals) and satisfy his desire to seek immortality. This sentence is about people, and the next sentence is about mountains. The word "two" echoes the word "I" in front, rendering a strong parting atmosphere.
The last two sentences are on the third floor. The poet told his friend that he would go to the life of seeking immortality, visiting Taoism and roaring mountains with him. The conclusion turns this thought and emotion into a concrete image: in the blue sky, a white dragon meanders and a graceful poet sits on it. His immortal spirit, blue sky and white dragon complement each other, forming a magical and harmonious artistic conception.
