Jian 'an literature has a greater influence on later generations, because the poetry and fu at that time determined the pattern of five-character poems in later generations, and also tried to create seven-character poems. There are also great differences in writers' thoughts between Jian 'an literature period and Zhengshi literature period. Scholars in Jian 'an period felt more secure than those in Zhengshi period. Cao Cao was very supportive of literature and made friends with scholars everywhere, while Sima's regime's main purpose was to exclude dissidents, which made the moral thought at that time hollow. Therefore, in order to keep the spirit of breaking away from the nihilistic thoughts left over from the Jian 'an period, the literati have a deeper sense of character. Jian 'an period is, after all, a period of social recovery. Although there are hardships, it is still full of hope. At the beginning, it was in a state of dire straits and uncertainty.
Jian 'an is the title of Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty. The Jian 'an period in literary history generally refers to the period from Jian 'an to Wei Chu, namely 196-220. Poetry is the most remarkable achievement of Jian 'an literature. Many works in this period draw nutrition from the folk songs of Han Yuefu, which can reflect the social unrest and the pain of people's displacement at that time, and reflect the desire and ideal of demanding national stability and unity. Its mood is generous and sad, its language is vigorous and powerful, and it has distinct characteristics of the times.
