How to Cultivate Junior High School Students' Good Reading Habits

First, listen and read-stimulate reading interest.

For children who have just entered the first grade of primary school, the amount of literacy is too small, and it is very difficult to read independently. I will take the way of letting students listen and read. The main purpose is to cultivate students' interest in reading. Every day, I will use the first few minutes of a Chinese class to read a story to the children with an illustrated story book in my hand. After reading it, I will put the book in the corner of the classroom. Many children will read the stories I have seen after class, even tell them, and tentatively guess the Chinese characters below the pictures. This action aroused students' interest in the story. Under the condition that the students fully mastered pinyin, I changed the time of reading stories to a few minutes before the end of a class, and deliberately stopped at the end when reading stories. When the bell rang, the students scrambled to find the answer. Some students watch the teacher read stories with books every day, and they want to have such books, so they let their parents buy the same books to read. Students in this period have been able to read according to their pinyin knowledge. Although the reading speed is slow and the reading time is short, they have successfully taken the first step in reading.

Second, learn to read-cultivate reading habits

Students have a preliminary interest in reading, and they can read independently with the help of Pinyin, but they should also be taught the methods of reading, so that their interest in reading can last and good reading habits can be formed.

1. Return the right to study to students. Every day, the story reading activities in our class begin with the teacher reading to the students, and gradually let the students read to the students after one semester. Show students reading from point to point, gradually implement and encourage them, try to make every student feel the joy of reading, arouse the enthusiasm of students to read, and achieve the true meaning of "I want to read".

2. Promote diversified reading. As long as students love reading, the improvement of students' literacy and reading ability is amazing, and the personalization of reading is also reflected. Some students like to recite children's songs, some like to tell stories, some like to process stories according to their own imagination, some like to draw pictures of some storylines, and some students combine the contents of the "Collection of Chinese Hundred Flowers Garden" to accumulate good words and sentences in their own "Collection" and share them with good friends from time to time. I affirmed the students' reading methods in time and added "stars" as a reward on the class bulletin board. Personalized reading can better reflect students' good reading habits and learn from each other to form more good habits. In the second half of the second semester of junior high school, our class held a reading card exhibition and evaluation activity. Through this activity, the children became "little bees"-they picked wonderful fragments, important materials and information at any time like bees, and formed a good habit of reading and accumulating.

3. Timely guidance of reading methods. For the text, I teach students the "five-step preview method" to read aloud: with the help of pinyin, you can read the text by yourself and develop the habit of reading aloud; Tick: mark the text with natural paragraph numbers, circle the new words in the text, tick off the new words and sentences, find out what you don't understand, and type "?" , develop the habit of "don't move pen and ink and don't read"; Learn to learn: learn new words by yourself, know two kinds of words, look up or ask words that don't understand the meaning, and form the habit of active learning; Pick one: as the saying goes, "a good memory is not as good as a bad writing." Students extract the words and sentences that should be accumulated in the text and the words that they think are worth learning and learning from, so that their eyes, hands and brains can be used together to form the habit of accumulation. Think about it: when students preview the text, they must read the text carefully with questions after class, try to find the answers to the questions themselves, and try to do what they are asked to do orally. In this way, we can better understand the main content of the text, learn more easily in class, and cultivate the habit of reading and thinking. At the same time, I instruct students to apply this preview method to extracurricular reading as much as possible to improve reading quality.

Third, reading-improving the quality of reading.

Students have a strong interest in reading and have learned how to read, so we should show them the opportunity of reading in time and add an evaluation mechanism in the process of showing reading, so that children can not only learn to "taste" but also learn to "evaluate". I always insist on using the first few minutes of a Chinese class every day to arrange the link of "I read, I am happy-self-presentation" so that children can show their reading achievements and share their reading happiness. During the exhibition, people often argue about a word, which is the spark of children's wisdom collision. I remember a child who put the words "spring, summer, autumn and winter" in the idiom category when displaying the collected idioms. At that time, some students expressed doubts. Children not only learned to read, but also learned to think and dare to question in reading, which developed students' thinking ability, improved reading quality and stimulated students' enthusiasm for further study. Also held in the class "reading card" creative design activities, poetry reading contest, story king selection, limited time "reading pictures and writing words" activities, handwritten newspaper contest and so on. Through such activities, I further stimulated students' interest in reading, consolidated good reading habits, made them last, made good reading habits the best helper for students to learn, and felt the resulting "I read, I am happy, I grow, I am happy."
