Sadulla's Translation of Autumn Ci

In the middle of the night in late autumn, the cars in the palace rode out, and small teams in twos and threes, dressed in purple, walked past the stone railings under the illumination of silver lamps and saw the frost on the hibiscus leaves.

Autumn Ci is a seven-character quatrain written by Sadula, a poet in Yuan Dynasty. The first two paragraphs of the poem indicate the time and place, describing the scene of late-night palace car travel; The last two sentences describe the scenery seen by the queue all the way, and the attendants hold silver lamps to see the frost on the lotus leaves. There are only four sentences in the whole poem, with concise writing and meaningful artistic conception.

On the night of clear autumn, the palace car went out to build a chapter, and the purple clothes team lined up in two or three rows. A silver lamp was held by the dry shore of the stone fence, and the frost on the lotus leaf was visible. Creation background This poem is also called Gong Ci or Qiu Gong Ci.
