The artistic conception of the masterpiece (19 17 10 month) separated by a layer of paper is obviously born out of Du Fu's Zhu Men stinking wine and meat, and there is a famous sentence on the road that freezes people to death. Through the sharp contrast between the rich in the house and the beggars outside, the author reveals his resentment against the reality of dark society and his sympathy for the tragic fate of the poor. However, due to the author's sharp contrast to the lives of different classes, he has more effectively exposed the social darkness and received stronger artistic effects. Another example is Apprentice Bitterness, which reveals the enslavement and destruction of the young apprentice by the shopkeeper Weng and the housewife with real life pictures.
Inspired by the spirit of the May 4th Movement, Liu Bannong also praised the fine character of the working people in his early poems, showing his optimistic belief in the future. The poem "The Old Cow" praises the hard work, tenacity, selflessness and fearlessness of laborers. The long poem "Knocking on the Ice" is especially commendable. This poem is about boatmen and punters. Despite the advice and obstruction of lazy, timid and slow-moving people, Qi Xin worked together day and night, and finally broke the frozen voyage with a wooden hammer, thus showing the optimistic and enterprising spirit of the times.
