The famous ci writers Qiao Yu passed away.

On June 2th, 222, at 3 am, the famous ci writers Qiao Yu died in Beijing at the age of 95.

Qiao Yu, formerly known as Qiao Qingbao, was born in Jining, Shandong Province in 1927. Perhaps it was influenced by the elders at home-Grandpa was a scholar in the Qing Dynasty and his father was a scholar. Qiao Yu received a strict education since he was a child. At the age of 4, he was able to read 3,, and he knew metrical poems, Yuefu and ancient and modern folk songs very early.
