Characteristics of Tagore's poems

I once saw a photo of him (Tagore), which was taken with some famous writers when I visited China in April 1924. Long beard, melancholy eyes, kind face, like an elder we know and respect. And his works, no matter when they are opened, no matter which page they turn to, can instantly enter that feeling, "Tagore's feeling." What he built for readers is a bright world full of joy and dedication to love. Gardeners' collections, birds' collections, ferries and lovers' legacy are like bright lights, which make many frustrated people feel a little warm and moved. "Prose and poetry, for me, are sisters, not mother-in-law." Therefore, he mixed novels, comments and letters into prose poems, which made his works more colorful in appearance. "Manna" is like a short story, "Script" is like a drama review, and "Laundry Woman" is like a sketch. This multi-body prose is refreshing. Just like adding salt to plain prose, Tagore's articles become more emotional as he reads them. Love, joy and light are the eternal themes of his singing, just like the main theme in a symphony, which is high and low, urgent and slow, so that your originally calm heart can't help beating with the beat.

Not only prose, but also his prose. "We came to this world, not only to know it, but also to bear it. With knowledge, we may become strong, but only with sympathy can we be perfect. " With a sympathetic heart, he put forward the view that "artists should remind the world" in the article "An Artist's Religion". That is, a real artist should dare to declare that his belief is eternal "yes" and believe that an ideal covers and permeates the earth, which is the ultimate reality on which all things live and move. When answering "what is art", he thinks that "art is human personality". In his view, the function of art lies in building the "real world" of human beings-a vibrant world full of truth, goodness and beauty. It is still of great significance to sublimate art to the height of personality today. If an artist has no noble personality, he is at best a "pseudo-artist". Tagore proved himself worthy of the title of "Indian poet saint" with his own actions. Only the combination of personality and art and the unity of ability and political integrity can win the respect and commemoration of future generations. Famous writers such as Lu Xun, Zhu Ziqing and Ba Jin are all admired for this.

Every time I read Tagore's works, I always feel very comfortable. It seems that a fresh wind blows across our faces. In front of him, any deception and concealment can't escape those sharp eyes, so let's be honest, because in the end we will suddenly find that it is often ourselves who cheat. I vaguely felt that the bearded old man was sitting opposite me, quietly watching me eagerly pounce on his book. When he is tired of reading or meets a puzzling question, he will answer with a smile and a calm tone. This is really the happiness of readers.

Looking into Tagore's eyes, you will be surprised to find your own "smallness". Whether it is literary talent or character, you will obviously feel the disparity of this gap. But you don't have to be timid, let alone discouraged, because as long as you reach out, you will be held by another pair of strong and warm hands and take you forward.
