The wind in May is a landmark sculpture located in May 4th Square in Qingdao. The author is Huang Zhen, who is 30 meters tall, 27 meters in diameter and weighs more than 500 tons. It is the largest steel city sculpture in China at present.

History of May Wind Construction

May 4th Square was built in 1997, and it is adjacent to the office building of Qingdao Municipal Government in the north and Fushan Bay in the south. Located in the East New District, there are large lawns, musical fountains and the iconic sculpture "Wind in May" on the south side of the municipal government building. With its hovering wind shape and fiery red color, it fully embodies the patriotic tone and national strength of the May Fourth Movement against imperialism and feudalism.

There is a fountain opposite the sea that can spray 100 meters high. The atmosphere of the whole scenic spot is quiet, elegant, comfortable and peaceful. It has become one of the landmark landscapes of Qingdao in the new century.
